“ Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal.

“ Phinehas is a priest. He is the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron. Phinehas has turned my anger away from the Israelites. I am committed to making sure I am honored among them. And he is as committed as I am. So even though I was angry with them, I did not put an end to them.

“ Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the people of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the people of Israel in my jealousy.

“ Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest has turned my anger away from the Israelites by being as zealous among them as I was. So I stopped destroying all Israel as I had intended to do in my zealous anger.

“ Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the Israelites because he was zealous among them with my zeal, so that I did not destroy the Israelites in my zeal.

“ Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.

Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

“ Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I didn’t consume the children of Israel in my jealousy.

他们拜外族的神明，令祂愤恨；行可憎之事，惹祂发怒。

犹大人做耶和华视为恶的事，他们的罪行比他们祖先所做的更惹耶和华发怒。

在耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银救不了他们。祂的怒火必吞噬大地，祂必骤然毁灭一切世人。”

我们想惹主嫉妒吗？难道我们比祂更有能力吗？

我要求你们忠贞不渝，正如上帝要求祂的子民忠贞不渝一样。因为我曾把你们当作贞洁的少女许配给一位丈夫——基督。

信子的人有永生；不信子的人得不到永生，上帝的烈怒常在他身上。”

耶和华绝不会赦免这样的人，祂必向这样的人发烈怒，使记在这书上的一切咒诅临到他身上，从世上抹去他的名字。

我要惩罚你，像惩罚淫乱和杀人的妇女一样。我要把烈怒和义愤倒在你身上，报应你杀人流血的罪。

因此祂说要消灭他们。若不是祂所拣选的摩西为他们求情，祂早已在烈怒中毁灭了他们。

众人按照大卫的吩咐，把扫罗和约拿单的骸骨埋葬在扫罗父亲基士的墓里，在便雅悯境内的洗拉。此后，上帝垂听了人们为国家的祷告。

因为你们的上帝耶和华是烈火，是痛恨不贞的上帝。

“倘若有人在田野或葡萄园里牧放牲畜，任由牲畜吃别人田里的农作物或葡萄，他必须拿自己田里最好的农作物或葡萄作赔偿。

耶和华是痛恨不贞、施行报应的上帝。耶和华施行报应，充满烈怒。耶和华报应祂的仇敌，向他们发烈怒。

直到非尼哈起来惩罚罪人，瘟疫才停止。

不可拜别的神明，因为耶和华是痛恨不贞的上帝，祂名为‘痛恨不贞’。

约书亚对亚干说：“你为什么给我们惹祸呢？今天耶和华要降祸给你。”于是，以色列人便拿石头打死了他和他一切的人畜，将其烧毁。他们在亚干身上堆起一大堆石头，那些石头今天还在。耶和华这才息怒，因此那地方至今还叫亚割谷。

约书亚说：“你们不能事奉耶和华，祂是一位圣洁的上帝，祂痛恨不贞，必不赦免你们的过犯和罪恶。
