Then Balak’s anger burned against Balaam. He struck his hands together and said to him,“ I summoned you to curse my enemies, but you have blessed them these three times.

Then Balak became very angry with Balaam. He slapped his hands together. He said to Balaam,“ I sent for you to put a curse on my enemies. But you have given them a blessing three times.

And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam,“ I called you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them these three times.

King Balak flew into a rage against Balaam. He angrily clapped his hands and shouted,“ I called you to curse my enemies! Instead, you have blessed them three times.

「人子啊，你要拍掌對他們說預言，你要拿刀揮舞兩三次，預示這刀要從四面八方大肆殺戮，

因為他們沒有用食物和水接待以色列人，還雇巴蘭咒詛他們，但我們的上帝將咒詛變為祝福。

我要拍掌，我的烈怒要平息。這是我耶和華說的。」

「『我見你謀財害命，就擊掌歎息。

狂風向他拍掌，呼嘯著吹走他。

他們比我強大，求你為我咒詛他們。這樣，我也許就能擊敗他們，把他們趕走。我知道你祝福誰，誰就蒙福；你咒詛誰，誰就遭禍。」

那時，摩押王西撥的兒子巴勒起兵攻打你們，並派人去召比珥的兒子巴蘭來咒詛你們。我不但沒有聽巴蘭的話，反而使他為你們連連祝福。這樣，我從巴勒手中救了你們。

因為在你們離開埃及的途中，他們沒有用水和食物款待你們，還雇用美索不達米亞的毗奪人——比珥的兒子巴蘭咒詛你們。但你們的上帝耶和華不聽巴蘭的話，反而把咒詛變為祝福，因為祂愛你們。

他必有重賞。你要什麼都可以，只求你去為他咒詛那民族。」

前來告訴我說，『有一個民族從埃及鋪天蓋地而來。請你去咒詛那民族，這樣巴勒王或許能擊敗他們，把他們趕走。』」
