Then Balak’s anger burned against Balaam. He struck his hands together and said to him,“ I summoned you to curse my enemies, but you have blessed them these three times.

Then Balak became very angry with Balaam. He slapped his hands together. He said to Balaam,“ I sent for you to put a curse on my enemies. But you have given them a blessing three times.

And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam,“ I called you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them these three times.

King Balak flew into a rage against Balaam. He angrily clapped his hands and shouted,“ I called you to curse my enemies! Instead, you have blessed them three times.

巴勒对巴兰说：“你这是做什么？我请你来咒诅我的仇敌，你竟祝福他们！”

“人子啊，你要拍掌对他们说预言，你要拿刀挥舞两三次，预示这刀要从四面八方大肆杀戮，

因为他们没有用食物和水接待以色列人，还雇巴兰咒诅他们，但我们的上帝将咒诅变为祝福。

我要拍掌，我的烈怒要平息。这是我耶和华说的。”

“‘我见你谋财害命，就击掌叹息。

狂风向他拍掌，呼啸着吹走他。

他们比我强大，求你为我咒诅他们。这样，我也许就能击败他们，把他们赶走。我知道你祝福谁，谁就蒙福；你咒诅谁，谁就遭祸。”

那时，摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒起兵攻打你们，并派人去召比珥的儿子巴兰来咒诅你们。我不但没有听巴兰的话，反而使他为你们连连祝福。这样，我从巴勒手中救了你们。

因为在你们离开埃及的途中，他们没有用水和食物款待你们，还雇用美索不达米亚的毗夺人——比珥的儿子巴兰咒诅你们。但你们的上帝耶和华不听巴兰的话，反而把咒诅变为祝福，因为祂爱你们。

他必有重赏。你要什么都可以，只求你去为他咒诅那民族。”

前来告诉我说，‘有一个民族从埃及铺天盖地而来。请你去咒诅那民族，这样巴勒王或许能击败他们，把他们赶走。’”
