巴兰便题起诗歌说：“巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王引我出东山，说：‘来啊，为我咒诅雅各；来啊，怒骂以色列。’

巴兰唱起诗歌说：“巴勒领我出亚兰，摩押王领我出东方的山脉：‘来啊，为我诅咒雅各；来啊，怒骂以色列。’

巴兰吟诗预言说：“巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王请我出东山，说，‘来为我咒诅雅各，来斥责以色列！’

巴兰就作歌，说：“巴勒把我从亚兰领出来，摩押王引我出东山，说：‘来吧，为我咒骂雅各，来啊，咒骂以色列。’

巴蘭便題起詩歌說：巴勒引我出亞蘭，摩押王引我出東山，說：來啊，為我咒詛雅各；來啊，怒罵以色列。

巴蘭以詩歌預言說：「巴勒引我出亞蘭，摩押王請我出東山，說，『來為我咒詛雅各，斥責以色列！』

巴蘭就作歌，說：“巴勒把我從亞蘭領出來，摩押王引我出東山，說：‘來吧，為我咒罵雅各，來啊，咒罵以色列。’

巴蘭便發表言論歌來、說：『巴勒領導我出亞蘭，摩押王領導我出東山，說：「來啊，為我咒詛雅各，來啊，怒罵以色列吧！」

乃作歌曰、巴勒招我於亞蘭、摩押王導我於東岳、曰來、為我詛雅各、詈以色列、

乃作歌曰、摩押王、厥名巴勒、招我於亞蘭、導我於東岳、使詛雅各、詈以色列。

Then Balaam spoke his message:“ Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains.‘ Come,’ he said,‘ curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.’

Then Balaam spoke the message he had received from God. He said,“ Balak brought me from the land of Aram. The king of Moab sent for me from the mountains in the east.‘ Come,’ he said.‘ Put a curse on Jacob’s people for me. Come. Speak against Israel.’

And Balaam took up his discourse and said,“ From Aram Balak has brought me, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains:‘ Come, curse Jacob for me, and come, denounce Israel!’

This was the message Balaam delivered:“ Balak summoned me to come from Aram; the king of Moab brought me from the eastern hills.‘ Come,’ he said,‘ curse Jacob for me! Come and announce Israel’s doom.’

Balaam proclaimed his poem: Balak brought me from Aram; the king of Moab, from the eastern mountains:“ Come, put a curse on Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel!”

他派使者往大河附近的毗奪去，到比珥的兒子巴蘭的家鄉，召巴蘭來，說：「看哪，有一羣百姓從埃及出來；看哪，他們遮滿地面，住在我的對面。現在請你來，為我詛咒這百姓，因為他們比我強大，或許我能打敗他們，把他們趕出此地。因為我知道，你為誰祝福，誰就得福；你詛咒誰，誰就受詛咒。」

他唱起詩歌說：「比珥的兒子巴蘭說，眼目關閉的人說，

因為你們出埃及的時候，他們沒有拿食物和水在路上迎接你們，並且雇了美索不達米亞的毗奪人，比珥的兒子巴蘭來詛咒你。

巴蘭唱起詩歌說：「巴勒啊，起來，聽；西撥的兒子啊，側耳聽我。

巴蘭又唱起詩歌說：「哀哉！若神做這事，誰能存活呢？

我要開口說比喻，我要解開古時的謎語，

他就唱起詩歌說：「比珥的兒子巴蘭說，眼目關閉的人說，

到那日，必有人為你們唱詩歌，用悲哀的哀歌哀號，說：「我們全然敗落，我百姓的產業易主了！耶和華竟然使它離開我，我們的田地為悖逆的人所瓜分了！」

那非利士人又說：「我今日向以色列的軍隊罵陣。你們叫一個人出來，跟我決鬥吧。」

這是要應驗先知所說的話：「我要開口說比喻，說出從創世以來所隱藏的事。」

你僕人曾打死獅子和熊，這未受割禮的非利士人必像獅子和熊一樣，因為他向永生神的軍隊罵陣。」

這些人豈不都要提起詩歌和俗語，嘲諷他說：禍哉！你增添不屬自己的財物，靠押金發財，要到幾時呢？

大衛對非利士人說：「你來攻擊我，是靠着刀槍和銅矛，但我來攻擊你，是靠着萬軍之耶和華的名，就是你所辱罵、帶領以色列軍隊的神。

「人子啊，你要向以色列家出謎語，設比喻，

他向以色列罵陣，大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子約拿單就殺了他。

巴蘭看見基尼人，就唱起詩歌說：「你的住處堅固；你的巢窩造在巖石中。

詛咒不會無故臨到，正如麻雀掠過，燕子翻飛。

我必使你得極大的尊榮，無論你向我要甚麼，我都給你。只求你來為我詛咒這百姓。』」

又見雅各聽從父母的話往巴旦‧亞蘭去了，

閃的兒子是以攔、亞述、亞法撒、路德、亞蘭。

以色列人說：「這上來的人你看見了嗎？他上來是要向以色列人罵陣。若有人能殺他，王必賞賜他大財，將自己的女兒嫁給他，並在以色列人中免除他父家納糧服役。」大衛對站在旁邊的人說：「若有人殺這非利士人，除掉以色列人的羞辱，他會怎樣呢？這未受割禮的非利士人是誰，竟敢向永生神的軍隊罵陣！」

跟隨大衛的三勇士中，其次是亞何亞人朵多的兒子以利亞撒。從前非利士人聚集要打仗，他們向非利士人罵陣。以色列人上去的時候，

你起身往巴旦‧亞蘭去，到你外祖父彼土利的家，從你舅父拉班的女兒中娶一位作你的妻子。

『看哪，從埃及出來的百姓遮滿了地面，現在請你來，為我詛咒他們，或許我能打敗他們，把他們趕走。』」

他又對他們講另一個比喻：「天國好比麵酵，有婦人拿來放進三斗麵裏，直到全團都發起來。」

他們看出這比喻是指着他們說的，就想要捉拿他，但是懼怕眾人，於是離開他走了。

於是我說：「唉！主耶和華啊，人都指着我說：他不是說比喻的人嗎？」
