The people rise like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion that does not rest till it devours its prey and drinks the blood of its victims.”

The Israelites are going to wake up like a female lion. They are going to get up like a male lion. They are like a lion that won’t rest until it eats what it has caught. They are like a lion that won’t rest until it drinks the blood of what it has killed.”

Behold, a people! As a lioness it rises up and as a lion it lifts itself; it does not lie down until it has devoured the prey and drunk the blood of the slain.”

These people rise up like a lioness, like a majestic lion rousing itself. They refuse to rest until they have feasted on prey, drinking the blood of the slaughtered!”

猶大是個小獅子；「我兒啊，你抓了所抓到的便上山穴去；』他屈身伏着像公獅、像母獅，誰敢惹他呢？

便雅憫是肆行抓掠的豺狼，早晨喫所掠奪的，晚上分所擄獲的。』

論迦得是說：『那使迦得擴張地界的是當受祝頌的！迦得蹲着像母獅；他撕裂膀臂，連頭頂也撕裂。

當那些王在位的日子，天上的上帝必另立一國、永不被滅；其政權也不留歸別族的人；它卻要砸碎而消滅那一切國；它必存立到永遠；

因為永恆主對我這樣說：獅子和少壯獅子怎樣咆哮而護着所抓撕的，就使你喊叫滿山的牧人來攻擊牠，牠也不因他們的聲音而驚慌，不因他們的喊喝而屈伏；照樣，萬軍之永恆主也必怎樣下來，覆庇在錫安的山和岡陵上。

雅各餘剩之民必在列國中，在許多外族之民間，像獅子在森林間的百獸中，像少壯獅子在羊羣中；他若經過，就必踐踏撕裂，無人能搶救。你的手舉起，必高過你敵人，你的仇敵都必被剪除。

長老中有一位對我說：『別哭了！你看，猶大支派的獅子、大衛的根、已經得勝，可以展開那書卷、而揭開其七印了。』

獅子的洞在哪裏？少壯獅子的穴在何處？公獅母獅漫遊之地、少獅子之所在、無人驚嚇之處、都在何方呢？

領他出埃及的上帝有像野牛高舉的角；他要吞喫做他敵人的列國，折斷他們的骨頭，擊碎他們的腰。他屈身躺着像公獅、像母獅；誰敢惹他呢？凡給你祝福的、願他蒙祝福，凡咒詛你的、願他受咒詛。』

『當那日、我必使猶大族系如火盆在木柴中，如火把在禾捆裏；他們必向右延燒、向左延燒、燬滅四圍列族之民；而耶路撒冷則必仍居其本處、平平安安。

房角石從他們而取，橛子從他們而採，作戰的弓從他們而擇，個個統治者從他們而出。他們一概都像勇士在戰陣上將仇敵踐踏在街上的泥土中；他們必爭戰，因為永恆主與他們同在；騎馬的兵也必失敗蒙羞。

我看他，卻不是在現時；我望着他，卻不是臨近的：必有一顆星從雅各而出，必有權柄之杖從以色列中興起；他必擊碎摩押的鬢邊、和鬨嚷之人的頭頂。

獅子、在野獸中最雄猛，在任何獸面前都不迴避的，

獅子一吼叫，誰不懼怕呢？主永恆主一說話，誰不傳神言呢？』

我看見天開着，見有一匹白馬。那騎馬的稱為忠信而真實：他審判、他爭戰、都本着公義。他的眼睛像火燄；他頭上戴着許多冠冕；他有名字寫着、除了他自己、沒有人能認識；他披着浸過血的衣裳；他的名字稱為「上帝之道」。天上的眾軍、穿着細麻衣、白而潔淨，騎着白馬跟着他。有一把利劍從他口中吐出，用了這個、可以擊打列國；他必用鐵杖管轄他們；他踹着全能者上帝震怒報應之酒醡。他有名字在他衣裳和大腿上寫着說：「萬王之王，萬主之主」。我看見有一位天使站在日頭中、向天頂點上一切飛着的鳥大聲喊着說：『你們來，聚集來赴上帝的大筵席，好喫君王的肉、千夫長的肉、壯士的肉、馬和騎馬者的肉、自主的為奴的、小的大的、眾人的肉。』我看見那獸和地上的君王跟他們的眾軍、都聚集了來、要對那騎馬的和他的軍隊作戰。那獸被逮，那假神言人、就是那在獸面前行過神迹、用神迹迷惑了受獸印記和拜獸像的人的、也和獸一同被逮；這兩個活活地丟在那有硫磺燒着的火湖裏。其餘的被騎馬者口中吐出的劍殺了；眾鳥都喫飽了他們的肉。

他像獅子急於抓撕掠物，又像少壯獅子蹲伏於藏匿處。
