此民強悍、我非其敵、汝來詛之、使我得攻擊而獲勝、驅之出境、蓋我素知爾、祝人則人受福、詛人則人被禍。

其民較我強盛、請爾來為我詛之、或可攻而勝之、逐之出境、因我素知爾為誰祝福、誰則得福、爾咒詛誰、誰則受禍、

Now come and put a curse on these people, because they are too powerful for me. Perhaps then I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you curse is cursed.”

So come and put a curse on these people. They are too powerful for me. Maybe I’ll be able to win the battle over them. Maybe I’ll be able to drive them out of the land. I know that whoever you bless is blessed. And I know that whoever you cursed is cursed.”

Come now, curse this people for me, since they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them from the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”

Please come and curse these people for me because they are too powerful for me. Then perhaps I will be able to conquer them and drive them from the land. I know that blessings fall on any people you bless, and curses fall on people you curse.”

巴蘭就作歌，說：“巴勒把我從亞蘭領出來，摩押王引我出東山，說：‘來吧，為我咒罵雅各，來啊，咒罵以色列。’神沒有咒詛的，我怎能咒詛呢？耶和華沒有咒罵的，我怎能咒罵呢？

給你祝福的，我必賜福給他；咒詛你的，我必咒詛他；地上的萬族，都必因你得福。”

有一次，我們到祈禱的地方去的時候，一個被巫鬼附著的婢女迎面而來；她行占卜使主人們發了大財。

他愛咒詛，願咒詛臨到他；他不喜愛祝福，願福樂遠離他。他以咒詛當作衣服穿上，咒詛就像水一般進入他的內臟，像油一樣進入他的骨頭。

有一個人名叫西門，從前在城裡行過邪術，使撒瑪利亞的居民驚奇，他又自命不凡，城裡大大小小都聽從他，說：“這就是那稱為‘神的大能’的人。”

神對巴蘭說：“你不可與他們同去，也不可咒詛那民，因為他們是蒙福的。”

因為你們出埃及的時候，他們沒有拿食物和水在路上迎接你們，又因為他們從兩河之間的亞蘭的毗奪雇了比珥的兒子巴蘭，來攻擊你，咒詛你。

那時摩押王西撥的兒子巴勒起來攻擊以色列人；他派人把比珥的兒子巴蘭召了來，咒詛你們。

那非利士人對大衛說：“難道我是一條狗嗎？你竟拿杖來攻擊我。”於是指著自己的神咒詛大衛。

那去召米該雅的使者對米該雅說：“看哪，這裡的眾先知都異口同聲地對王說吉話，請你與他們一樣說吉話。”

繼續使用你從幼年時就勞碌施行的符咒和許多的邪術吧！或者你可以得到益處，也許你能叫人戰慄。你因你許多的計劃而勞累；現在讓那些劃分天象的，觀看星辰的，在月朔時說預言的，都站起來，拯救你脫離要臨到你身上的事。

因為我必使你大得尊榮；你向我說甚麼，我都照辦；只求你替我咒詛這民。’”

他們所見的是虛假的異象，是騙人的占卜；他們說：‘這是耶和華的宣告。’其實耶和華並沒有差遣他們，他們卻希望自己的話能夠應驗。

以色列王對約沙法說：“還有一個人，我們可以託他求問耶和華。不過我憎恨他，因為他對我說的預言，都是凶話，不是吉話。這人就是音拉的兒子米該雅。”但約沙法說：“請王不要這麼說。”

於是以色列王把眾先知聚集了來，約有四百人，問他們：“我可以去攻打基列的拉末嗎？或是應當忍耐不去呢？”他們說：“你可以上去，主必把那城交在王的手裡。”

願萬民服事你，願萬族向你下拜，願你作你兄弟的主人，願你母親的子孫向你下拜。咒詛你的，願他受咒詛；給你祝福的，願他蒙福。”

因為他們沒有拿食物和水來迎接以色列人，反而雇用了巴蘭來與他們作對，咒詛他們；但是我的神使咒詛變為祝福。

任憑他們咒詛，只願你賜福；願起來攻擊我的都蒙羞，你的僕人卻要歡喜。

麻雀怎樣飛來飛去，燕子怎樣翻飛；照樣，無故的咒詛也不會臨到人。
