因昔爾出埃及、彼不以餅以水、迎饋其師、亦因以金賂庇耳子巴蘭、俾自米所波大米之比奪至、以咒詛爾故也。

時摩押王、西撥子巴勒攻以色列族、召庇耳子巴蘭、使咒詛爾。

我民當憶古昔摩押王巴勒謀害爾曹、庇耳子巴蘭與之黨同、自失亭至吉甲、耶和華之恩澤、爾其念之勿忘。

彼行該隱之途、以其貪利、故謬則從巴蘭、逆則效哥喇、烏能弗敗、

惟爾有可責數事、昔巴蘭慫恿巴勒、誘以色列人、食祭偶之物、且行淫、爾中有人從之、

以色列族大戮其眾、卜筮師庇耳子巴蘭、亦為所殲。

乃作歌曰、摩押王、厥名巴勒、招我於亞蘭、導我於東岳、使詛雅各、詈以色列。

我必使爾苗裔、如塵沙然、若有能核塵沙之數者、則爾苗裔、亦可計矣。

上帝使選民繁衍、較敵尤強兮、

離正道而迷罔、從破朔子巴蘭之行、巴蘭貪不義之利、為惡見責、有驢作人言、禁先知巴蘭之狂妄、

斯時人誦摩西書、俾民僉聞、書云、摩押、亞捫二族、世不得入上帝會。因昔不以水以餅迎饋以色列族、乃賂巴蘭、俾來呪詛、惟我上帝變詛為祝。

以色列族生育繁多、昌熾是邦、日以強大。埃及新王即位、不念約瑟、告民曰、以色列族甚眾、其強過我、莫若施謀以制之、恐其眾多、乘敵至、合而攻我、離我國而去。
