然尚有稍可責爾者、因爾中有從巴蘭教者、昔巴蘭教巴拉克、誘惑以色列人食祭偶像之物、且行淫、

以色列人殺彼眾時、以刃殺比珥子術士巴蘭、

乃作歌曰、巴勒導我自亞蘭、摩押王召我出東山、曰、來、為我咒雅各、為我詛以色列、

我必使爾後裔多如地之塵沙然、若人能核數地之塵沙、則爾之後裔亦可核數、

主使己民蕃衍、使之強於敵人、

離正道而入迷途、從波朔子巴蘭之道、巴蘭因貪利行惡、因貪利行惡原文作慕行惡之值為其惡見責、不能言之驢作人聲、而止先知之狂、

當日、人誦摩西書、俾民俱聞、遇書中所載云、亞捫人、摩押人、永不得入天主之會、因昔日不以餅以水迎餽以色列人、乃賄巴蘭來而詛之、惟我天主變詛為祝、

以色列子孫生育眾多、昌熾蕃衍、充滿是邦、伊及有新王起、不念約瑟、告其民曰、此以色列族甚眾、其強過我、莫若待之以巧計、免其眾多、遇有戰事、附合我敵、攻我離國而去、
