When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, it turned off the road into a field. Balaam beat it to get it back on the road.

The donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road. The angel was holding a sword. He was ready for battle. So the donkey left the road and went into a field. Balaam hit the donkey. He wanted to get it back on the road.

大卫举目看见耶和华的使者站在天地之间，手里拿着出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大卫和众长老都穿上麻布，脸伏于地。

但是神却拣选了世上愚笨的，使那些有智慧的羞愧。他也拣选了世上软弱的，使那些刚强的羞愧。他也拣选了世上卑贱的和被人轻视的，以及算不得什么的，为了要废弃那些自以为是的，使所有的人在神面前都不能自夸。

独有我但以理看见这异象，那些和我在一起的人都没有看见，不过他们却大大惊慌，逃跑躲藏起来了。

他曾经因着自己的过犯受了责备：不能说话的驴，竟用人的声音说出话来，制止了这先知的狂妄。

跟我在一起的人，只看见那光，却听不清楚那位对我说话的声音。

以利沙祷告，说：“耶和华啊！请你打开他的眼睛，使他能看见。”于是耶和华打开了仆人的眼睛，他就看见；看哪！那山上布满了火马火车，围绕着以利沙。

他们有祸了，因为他们走上了该隐的道路，又为了财利闯进巴兰的歧途，并且在可拉的背叛中灭亡了。
