“看哪，我在你面前差派使者，好在路上保護你，領你到我預備的地方去。

他與天使角力，並且得勝；他哀哭，向他求恩。他在伯特利遇見神，神在那裡對他說話。耶和華是萬軍的神，耶和華是他的名號。

耶和華就對何西阿說：“給他起名叫耶斯列；因為不久我就要懲罰耶戶家在耶斯列流人血的罪，我要滅絕以色列家的國。

耶和華的使者對巴蘭說：“你與這些人同去吧，但是你只要說我吩咐你的話。”於是巴蘭與巴勒的領袖一同去了。

耶戶又說：“要為巴力召開一個嚴肅會。”於是眾人宣告召開大會。

他祝福約瑟，說：“願我祖亞伯拉罕和以撒所侍候的神，一生牧養我直到今日的神，那救我脫離一切禍患的使者，賜福給這兩個童子。願我的名，我祖亞伯拉罕和以撒的名，藉著他們得以流傳；願他們在地上生養眾多。”

耶和華的使者從荊棘叢裡的火燄中向摩西顯現。摩西觀看，看見荊棘被火燒著，卻沒有燒毀。摩西說：“我要到那邊去，看看這大異象，這荊棘為甚麼燒不掉？”耶和華見摩西要到那邊去觀看，神就從荊棘叢裡呼叫他，說：“摩西，摩西。”摩西說：“我在這裡。”耶和華說：“不可過到這裡來；要把你腳上的鞋脫掉，因為你所站的地方是聖地。”又說：“我是你父親的神、亞伯拉罕的神、以撒的神、雅各的神。”摩西因為怕見神，就把自己的臉蒙住了。
