我將使爾尊顯、凡爾所言、我必依行、請爾至國、以詛斯民焉。

because I will reward you handsomely and do whatever you say. Come and put a curse on these people for me.”

爾盍速返故國、我意使爾得大榮、而耶和華不許。

利盡天下、而失生命者、何益之有、人將以何者易生命乎、

巴勒遵言而行、二人在各壇獻祭牛一、羊一、巴蘭謂巴勒曰、汝燔祭品、當侍於側、我將前往、如耶和華遇我、其所諭言、我必告爾。遂陟童山。

遂誓許所求、

內豎哈破拿告王曰、木底改昔有救王之功、哈曼反立木於家、高五丈、欲懸之於上。王曰、即以此木懸哈曼。

此民強悍、我非其敵、汝來詛之、使我得攻擊而獲勝、驅之出境、蓋我素知爾、祝人則人受福、詛人則人被禍。

巴蘭曰、於此築壇七、備牛七羊七。巴勒從其言、壇上各獻牛羊一。

始用鐮刈穀之時、必核七七日、

魔鬼復攜彼登峻峭之山、以天下列國尊榮示之、曰、若俯伏拜我、悉以予爾、

巴勒謂巴蘭曰、我遣使召爾、爾曷不至、我豈不能以尊顯加爾。

以其財貨之富、子女之繁、王擢於諸伯百寮之上、一切告之。
