And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they[ are] blessed.

上帝曰、爾勿偕往、亦勿詛民、蓋斯民受祝矣、

天主諭巴蘭曰、毋偕之往、毋詛斯民、因斯民已蒙福矣、

But God said to Balaam,“ Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”

Blessed[ be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly[ places] in Christ:

O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.

Happy[ is that] people, that is in such a case:[ yea], happy[ is that] people, whose God[ is] the LORD.

And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.

Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,[ Saying], Blessed[ are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

God[ is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do[ it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?Behold, I have received[ commandment] to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on[ every] altar.And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet[ the LORD] yonder.

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son]:That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which[ is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

Surely[ there is] no enchantment against Jacob, neither[ is there] any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

For the gifts and calling of God[ are] without repentance.

Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up,[ and] go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,That he may withdraw man[ from his] purpose, and hide pride from man.

Happy[ art] thou, O Israel: who[ is] like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who[ is] the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Happy[ is he] that[ hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope[ is] in the LORD his God:
