So the people came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you; intercede with the Lord, that He will remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.

The people came to Moses and said,“ We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

The others came to Moses. They said,“ We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

And the people came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

Then the people came to Moses and cried out,“ We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said,“ Plead with the Lord to remove the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, so that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

But Simon answered and said,“ Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”

The people then cried out to Moses; and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire died out.

When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and searched diligently for God;

Pharaoh said,“ I will let you go, so that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Plead for me.”

And the king responded and said to the man of God,“ Please appease the Lord your God and pray for me, so that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God appeased the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and it became as it was before.

Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept him so as not to do with you as your foolishness deserves, because you have not spoken of Me what is trustworthy, as My servant Job has.”

And I prayed to the Lord and said,‘ Lord God, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, whom You have redeemed through Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand!Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; do not turn Your attention to the stubbornness of this people, or to their wickedness, or their sin.Otherwise, the people of the land from which You brought us will say,“ Since the Lord was not able to bring them into the land which He had promised them, and since He hated them, He has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness!”Yet they are Your people, and Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your great power and Your outstretched arm.’

saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said,“ What is that to us? You shall see to it yourself!”

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, If Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.

Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ I have sinned this time; the Lord is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones.Plead with the Lord, for there has been enough of God’s thunder and hail; and I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”

And on the next day Moses said to the people,“ You yourselves have committed a great sin; and now I am going up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.”

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.

Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said,“ Lord, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

So now, please, let the power of the Lord be great, just as You have declared, saying,‘ The Lord is slow to anger and abundant in mercy, forgiving wrongdoing and violation of His Law; but He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.’Please forgive the guilt of this people in accordance with the greatness of Your mercy, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”So the Lord said,“ I have forgiven them in accordance with your word;

Then Saul said,“ I have sinned; but please honor me now before the elders of my people and before all Israel, and go back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.”

Then Saul said to Samuel,“ I have sinned, for I have violated the command of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and listened to their voice.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people. Send them away from My presence and have them go!

Then all the people said to Samuel,“ Pray to the Lord your God for your servants, so that we do not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, by asking for ourselves a king.”Samuel said to the people,“ Do not fear. You have committed all this evil, yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.Indeed, you must not turn aside, for then you would go after useless things which cannot benefit or save, because they are useless.For the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.Furthermore, as for me, far be it from me that I would sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and right way.

The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their distress they will search for Me.

Now then, return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, know that you will certainly die, you and all who are yours.”

The Lord was also angry enough with Aaron to destroy him; so I also prayed for Aaron at the same time.

Yet King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and the priest Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying,“ Please pray to the Lord our God in our behalf.”
