The people then came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so that he will take the snakes away from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.

The people came to Moses and said,“ We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

The others came to Moses. They said,“ We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

And the people came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

Then the people came to Moses and cried out,“ We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

And the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Jehovah, and against thee; pray unto Jehovah, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

The people came to Moses, and said,“ We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Appeal to the LORD to remove the frogs from me and my people. Then I will let the people go and they can sacrifice to the LORD.”

“ Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon replied,“ so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

Then the people cried out to Moses, and he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died down.

When he killed some of them, the rest began to seek him; they repented and searched for God.

Pharaoh responded,“ I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but don’t go very far. Make an appeal for me.”

Then the king responded to the man of God,“ Plead for the favor of the LORD your God and pray for me so that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God pleaded for the favor of the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him and became as it had been at first.

Now take seven bulls and seven rams, go to my servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. Then my servant Job will pray for you. I will surely accept his prayer and not deal with you as your folly deserves. For you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”

I prayed to the LORD: Lord GOD, do not annihilate your people, your inheritance, whom you redeemed through your greatness and brought out of Egypt with a strong hand.Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Disregard this people’s stubbornness, and their wickedness and sin.Otherwise, those in the land you brought us from will say,‘ Because the LORD wasn’t able to bring them into the land he had promised them, and because he hated them, he brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.’But they are your people, your inheritance, whom you brought out by your great power and outstretched arm.

“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said.“ What’s that to us?” they said.“ See to it yourself!”

So he said he would have destroyed them— if Moses his chosen one had not stood before him in the breach to turn his wrath away from destroying them.

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God concerning them is for their salvation.

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron.“ I have sinned this time,” he said to them.“ The LORD is the righteous one, and I and my people are the guilty ones.Make an appeal to the LORD. There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”

The following day Moses said to the people,“ You have committed a grave sin. Now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I will be able to atone for your sin.”

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God:“ LORD, why does your anger burn against your people you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand?

“ So now, may my Lord’s power be magnified just as you have spoken:The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love, forgiving iniquity and rebellion. But he will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generation.Please pardon the iniquity of this people, in keeping with the greatness of your faithful love, just as you have forgiven them from Egypt until now.”The LORD responded,“ I have pardoned them as you requested.

Saul said,“ I have sinned. Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so I can bow in worship to the LORD your God.”

Saul answered Samuel,“ I have sinned. I have transgressed the LORD’s command and your words. Because I was afraid of the people, I obeyed them.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel should stand before me, my compassions would not reach out to these people. Send them from my presence, and let them go.

They pleaded with Samuel,“ Pray to the LORD your God for your servants so we won’t die! For we have added to all our sins the evil of requesting a king for ourselves.”Samuel replied,“ Don’t be afraid. Even though you have committed all this evil, don’t turn away from following the LORD. Instead, worship the LORD with all your heart.Don’t turn away to follow worthless things that can’t profit or rescue you; they are worthless.The LORD will not abandon his people, because of his great name and because he has determined to make you his own people.“ As for me, I vow that I will not sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you. I will teach you the good and right way.

After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and doubled his previous possessions.

I will depart and return to my place until they recognize their guilt and seek my face; they will search for me in their distress.

Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, know that you will certainly die, you and all who are yours.”

The LORD was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him. But I prayed for Aaron at that time also.

Nevertheless, King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, requesting,“ Please pray to the LORD our God on our behalf!”
