百姓向神和摩西發怨言，說：「你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，使我們死在曠野呢？這裏沒有糧食，沒有水，我們厭惡這淡而無味的食物。」

就怨讟神和摩西说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领出来、使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮，没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

百姓向上帝和摩西发怨言，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，没有水，我们厌恶这淡而无味的食物。”

就反抗神和摩西，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，又没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

就說壞話攻擊上帝和摩西說：『你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，讓我們死在這曠野呢？這裏沒有食物、沒有水；這淡薄的食物，我們的胃口都憎厭了。』

怨上帝及摩西曰、奚導我出埃及、使死於野、無糧無水、所食淡薄、我心厭之、

讟上帝及摩西曰、奚導我出埃及使死於野、在此無餅無水、所食不能果腹、我心厭之、

怨讟天主與摩西曰、奚導我出伊及、使我死於曠野、在此無糧無水、我心厭此淡薄之食、

they spoke against God and against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

So they spoke against God and against Moses. They said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt? Do you want us to die here in the desert? We don’t have any bread! We don’t have any water! And we hate this awful food!”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

and they began to speak against God and Moses.“ Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained.“ There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

So the people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

The people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

第二天，以色列全會眾都向摩西、亞倫發怨言說：「你們殺了耶和華的百姓了。」

並且妄論神說：「神豈能在曠野擺設筵席嗎？

百姓就與摩西爭鬧，說：「給我們水喝吧！」摩西對他們說：「你們為甚麼與我爭鬧呢？你們為甚麼試探耶和華呢？」百姓在那裏口渴要喝水，就向摩西發怨言，說：「你為甚麼把我們從埃及領出來，使我們和我們的兒女，以及牲畜都渴死呢？」

你把我們從流奶與蜜之地領出來，讓我們死在曠野，這豈是小事？你還要自立為王管轄我們嗎？你根本沒有領我們到流奶與蜜之地，也沒有給我們田地和葡萄園作為產業。難道你想要挖這些人的眼睛嗎？我們不上去！」

以色列人對摩西說：「看哪，我們死啦！我們滅亡啦！我們全都滅亡啦！

全會眾大聲喧嚷，那夜百姓哭號。以色列眾人向摩西和亞倫發怨言，全會眾對他們說：「我們寧願死在埃及地，寧願死在這曠野！耶和華為甚麼要把我們領到那地，讓我們倒在刀下呢？我們的妻子和孩子必成為擄物。我們回埃及去豈不更好嗎？」他們彼此說：「我們不如選一個領袖，回埃及去吧！」

以色列全會眾在曠野向摩西和亞倫發怨言。以色列人對他們說：「我們寧願在埃及地死在耶和華手中！那時我們坐在肉鍋旁，吃餅得飽。你們卻將我們領出來，到這曠野，要叫這全會眾都餓死啊！」

他們對摩西說：「難道埃及沒有墳地，你要把我們帶來死在曠野嗎？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？

百姓發怨言，惡言傳達到耶和華的耳中。耶和華聽見了就怒氣發作，耶和華的火在他們中間焚燒，燒燬營的外圍。百姓向摩西哀求，摩西祈求耶和華，火就熄了。那地方就叫做他備拉，因為耶和華的火曾在他們中間焚燒。他們中間的閒雜人動了貪慾的心；以色列人又再哭着說：「誰給我們肉吃呢？我們記得在埃及的時候，不花錢就可以吃魚，還有黃瓜、西瓜、韭菜、蔥、蒜。現在我們的精力枯乾了。除了這嗎哪以外，在我們眼前甚麼都沒有。」嗎哪好像芫荽子，看上去如同樹脂的樣子。百姓四處走動撿取嗎哪，把它用磨磨碎或用臼搗成粉，在鍋中煮了做成餅，滋味好像油烤餅的滋味。夜間露水降在營中，嗎哪也隨着降下。

人吃飽了，厭惡蜂房的蜜；人飢餓了，一切苦物都覺甘甜。

以色列家給這食物取名叫嗎哪，它的樣子像芫荽子，顏色是白的，吃起來像和蜜的薄餅。

降嗎哪像雨，給他們吃，將天上的糧食賜給他們。各人就吃大能者的食物；他賜下糧食，使他們飽足。

早晨，你們要看見耶和華的榮耀，因為耶和華聽見你們向他所發的怨言了。我們算甚麼，你們竟然向我們發怨言呢？」摩西又說：「耶和華晚上必給你們肉吃，早晨必給你們食物得飽，因為耶和華已經聽見你們向他所發的怨言。我們算甚麼呢？你們的怨言不是向我們發的，而是向耶和華發的。」

百姓就向摩西發怨言，說：「我們喝甚麼呢？」

神使孤獨的有家，使被囚的出來享福；惟有悖逆的要住在乾旱之地。

以色列人看見了，不知道是甚麼，就彼此說：「這是甚麼？」摩西對他們說：「這是耶和華給你們吃的食物。
