The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

they spoke against God and against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

So they spoke against God and against Moses. They said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt? Do you want us to die here in the desert? We don’t have any bread! We don’t have any water! And we hate this awful food!”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

and they began to speak against God and Moses.“ Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained.“ There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

So the people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The next day the entire Israelite community complained about Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the LORD’s people!”

They spoke against God, saying,“ Is God able to provide food in the wilderness?

So the people complained to Moses,“ Give us water to drink.”“ Why are you complaining to me?” Moses replied to them.“ Why are you testing the LORD?”But the people thirsted there for water and grumbled against Moses. They said,“ Why did you ever bring us up from Egypt to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

Is it not enough that you brought us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? Do you also have to appoint yourself as ruler over us?Furthermore, you didn’t bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey or give us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men? We will not come!”

Then the Israelites declared to Moses,“ Look, we’re perishing! We’re lost; we’re all lost!

Then the whole community broke into loud cries, and the people wept that night.All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!Why is the LORD bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and children will become plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and go back to Egypt.”

The entire Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by pots of meat and ate all the bread we wanted. Instead, you brought us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of hunger!”

They said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Now the people began complaining openly before the LORD about hardship. When the LORD heard, his anger burned, and fire from the LORD blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.Then the people cried out to Moses, and he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died down.So that place was named Taberah, because the LORD’s fire had blazed among them.The riffraff among them had a strong craving for other food. The Israelites wept again and said,“ Who will feed us meat?We remember the free fish we ate in Egypt, along with the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.But now our appetite is gone; there’s nothing to look at but this manna!”The manna resembled coriander seed, and its appearance was like that of bdellium.The people walked around and gathered it. They ground it on a pair of grinding stones or crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a cooking pot and shaped it into cakes. It tasted like a pastry cooked with the finest oil.When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it.

A person who is full tramples on a honeycomb, but to a hungry person, any bitter thing is sweet.

The house of Israel named the substance manna. It resembled coriander seed, was white, and tasted like wafers made with honey.

He rained manna for them to eat; he gave them grain from heaven.People ate the bread of angels. He sent them an abundant supply of food.

and in the morning you will see the LORD’s glory because he has heard your complaints about him. For who are we that you complain about us?”Moses continued,“ The LORD will give you meat to eat this evening and all the bread you want in the morning, for he has heard the complaints that you are raising against him. Who are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the LORD.”

The people grumbled to Moses,“ What are we going to drink?”

God provides homes for those who are deserted. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a scorched land.

When the Israelites saw it, they asked one another,“ What is it?” because they didn’t know what it was. Moses told them,“ It is the bread the LORD has given you to eat.
