Let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.”But he said,“ You shall not pass through.” And Edom came out against them with a large army and with a strong force.Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory, so Israel turned away from him.And they journeyed from Kadesh, and the people of Israel, the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor.And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron at Mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom,

that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass, and just as you know.

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

But as for you, turn, and journey into the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea.’
