    The other half of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad received their allotted tribal lands beyond the Jordan, just as Moses, the LORD’s servant, had assigned them.Their territory started from Aroer( on the edge of the Arnon Valley), included the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plain of Medeba as far as Dibon,and all the cities of King Sihon of the Amorites who ruled in Heshbon, and ended at the Ammonite border.Their territory also included Gilead, Geshurite and Maacathite territory, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah–the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei.( He was one of the few remaining Rephaites.) Moses defeated them and took their lands.

    So Moses gave to the Gadites, the Reubenites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the realm of King Sihon of the Amorites, and the realm of King Og of Bashan, the entire land with its cities and the territory surrounding them.The Gadites rebuilt Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,Atroth Shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran as fortified cities, and constructed pens for their flocks.The Reubenites rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,Nebo, Baal Meon( with a change of name), and Sibmah. They renamed the cities they built.The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it.So Moses gave Gilead to Machir, son of Manasseh, and he lived there.Now Jair son of Manasseh went and captured their small towns and named them Havvoth Jair.Then Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah after his own name.

    Now these are the kings of the land whom the Israelites defeated and drove from their land on the east side of the Jordan, from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern Arabah:King Sihon of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer( on the edge of the Arnon Valley)– including the city in the middle of the valley and half of Gilead– all the way to the Jabbok Valley bordering Ammonite territory.His kingdom included the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah( the Salt Sea), including the route to Beth Jeshimoth and the area southward below the slopes of Pisgah.The territory of King Og of Bashan, one of the few remaining Rephaites, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edreiand ruled over Mount Hermon, Salecah, all of Bashan to the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and half of Gilead as far as the border of King Sihon of Heshbon.Moses the LORD’s servant and the Israelites defeated them and Moses the LORD’s servant assigned their land to Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

    To the Reubenites and Gadites I allocated the territory extending from Gilead as far as Wadi Arnon( the exact middle of the wadi was a boundary) all the way to the Wadi Jabbok, the Ammonite border.The Arabah and the Jordan River were also a border, from the sea of Chinnereth to the sea of the Arabah( that is, the Salt Sea), beneath the watershed of Pisgah to the east.
