And Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as to the Ammonites, for the border of the Ammonites was strong.

But the Israelites slaughtered them with their swords and occupied their land from the Arnon River to the Jabbok River. They went only as far as the Ammonite border because the boundary of the Ammonites was fortified.

基列之餘地、我以之予流便人迦得人、自亞嫩溪、以溪中為界、直至亞捫界之雅博溪、

又聞其所行於約但東亞摩利二王、即希實本王西宏、與都亞斯他錄之巴珊王噩、

以法蓮人咸集、往北、謂耶弗他曰、爾往攻亞捫人、不招我偕往何故、我必以火焚爾及爾家室、耶弗他謂之曰、我及我民、與亞捫人大爭將戰、我招爾來、爾竟不來救我脫於其手、

以色列人在約但東、日出之所、擊二王而得其地、即自亞嫩溪至黑門山、及東方全亞拉巴、亞拉巴或作平原此二王即都希實本之亞摩利王西宏、其原轄之地、即基列之半、自亞嫩溪濱之亞羅珥、及州中州中或作谷中下同之邑、至亞捫人之交界雅博溪、又東向之亞拉巴、至基尼列海、海或作湖又至亞拉巴海、即鹽海向東、與伯耶西末相對、又南向至毘斯迦山麓、又南向至毘斯迦山麓或作又自提縵沿毘斯迦山麓

以色列之天主耶和華以西宏與其軍眾、付於以色列人手、以色列人擊之、乃得原居斯地亞摩利人之全地、得亞摩利人之全境、自亞嫩至雅博、自曠野至約但、以色列之天主耶和華逐亞摩利人於己民前、而爾欲得其地乎、

攻擊多國、誅殺強大之君王、即亞摩利王西宏、巴珊王噩並滅迦南諸國、將其土地賞賜為業、即賞賜己民以色列為業、

瑪拿西又有半支派、與流便迦得二支派、已得其業、即主之僕摩西在約但東所予之地、自亞嫩溪濱之亞羅珥、及洲中之邑、與米底巴之全平原、至底本、及都希實本、亞摩利王西宏之諸邑、至亞捫人之交界、

時、主諭我曰、我今日以西宏及其地付於爾、爾據其地、始得地為業、於是西宏帥其眾民、出以敵我、至耶哈斯與我戰、主我之天主、付之於我儕、我儕擊之、及其諸子眾民、當時我儕取其諸邑、以諸邑之民、男女以及嬰孩、盡行殲滅、一無所遺、惟牲畜及邑中貨財、為我儕所得、自亞嫩溪濱之亞羅珥及谷中之邑、谷中之邑或作州中之邑至於基列、無鞏固之城、我儕所不能取者、主我之天主盡付於我儕、惟亞捫人之境、凡沿雅博溪之地、山中諸邑、及主我之天主所禁者、爾未就近以攻之、
