From there they continued on to Beer, the well where the Lord said to Moses,“ Gather the people together and I will give them water.”

約坦畏其兄亞比米勒而避之、逃往比珥居焉、○

我於何烈磐上、向爾而立、爾擊斯磐、水由之出、使民得飲、摩西遂於以色列長老前行此、

爾曹將於拯救之泉、欣然汲水、

爾其執杖、與汝兄亞倫集會眾、於其前命磐出水、必使水出於磐、遍飲會眾、及厥牲畜、

聖神與新婦皆曰來、聞者亦當曰來、渴者當來、願之者可不費而得維生之水、○

不飢不渴、日不之暴、暑不之侵、矜憫之者必引之、導經水源、

於節之末日、即大日也、耶穌立而呼曰、人若渴、宜就我飲、信我者、如經所言、將有活水之川、由其腹而流焉、耶穌此言、指信之者將受之聖神、蓋聖神尚未降、因耶穌未榮也、

耶穌曰、爾若知上帝之賜、及語爾飲我者為誰、爾必求之、則以活水予爾、

使者又以城衢中維生水之河示我、其水光明如晶、自上帝及羔之座而出、

惟飲我所予之水者、永不渴、蓋我所予之水、將於其中為泉、湧至永生、

維被貧乏、求水不得、口渴舌燥、我耶和華必俞允之、以色列之上帝必不棄之、我將濬河於童山、出泉於幽谷、使曠野成池沼、旱地為源泉、

野中百獸、野犬鴕鳥、必皆尊我、因我備水於曠野、濬川於荒墟、以飲我之選民、

又謂我曰、悉成矣、我乃始與終、本與末、凡渴者將以維生之水源予之、而無費也、
