They quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!

They argued with Moses. They said,“ We wish we had died when our people fell dead in front of the Lord.

The people blamed Moses and said,“ If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers!

The people quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the LORD.

Then the people argued with Moses and spoke, saying,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying:“ If only we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!

And the people strove with Moses, and spake, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah!

The people quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord.

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

The people contended with Moses, saying,“ If only we had died when our brothers died before the LORD!

Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said,“ Give us water to drink.” And Moses said to them,“ Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?”

And as soon as he had finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart.And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the people who belonged to Korah and all their goods.So they and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol, and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.And all Israel who were around them fled at their cry, for they said,“ Lest the earth swallow us up!”And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense.

Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night.And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!

Now those who died in the plague were 14,700, besides those who died in the affair of Korah.

And the people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes, and when the Lord heard it, his anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp.

And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation grumble against him by bringing up a bad report about the land—the men who brought up a bad report of the land— died by plague before the Lord.

While the meat was yet between their teeth, before it was consumed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck down the people with a very great plague.Therefore the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had the craving.

And the whole congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness,and the people of Israel said to them,“ Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

because it did not shut the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hide trouble from my eyes.“ Why did I not die at birth, come out from the womb and expire?

Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who wasted away, pierced by lack of the fruits of the field.
