They quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!

They argued with Moses. They said,“ We wish we had died when our people fell dead in front of the Lord.

And the people quarreled with Moses and said,“ Would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

The people blamed Moses and said,“ If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers!

Then the people argued with Moses and spoke, saying,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

所以與摩西爭鬧，說：「給我們水喝吧！」摩西對他們說：「你們為甚麼與我爭鬧？為甚麼試探耶和華呢？」

摩西剛說完了這一切話，他們腳下的地就開了口，把他們和他們的家眷，並一切屬可拉的人丁、財物，都吞下去。這樣，他們和一切屬他們的，都活活地墜落陰間；地口在他們上頭照舊合閉，他們就從會中滅亡。在他們四圍的以色列眾人聽他們呼號，就都逃跑，說：「恐怕地也把我們吞下去。」又有火從耶和華那裏出來，燒滅了那獻香的二百五十個人。

當下，全會眾大聲喧嚷；那夜百姓都哭號。以色列眾人向摩西、亞倫發怨言；全會眾對他們說：「巴不得我們早死在埃及地，或是死在這曠野。

除了因可拉事情死的以外，遭瘟疫死的，共有一萬四千七百人。

眾百姓發怨言，他們的惡語達到耶和華的耳中。耶和華聽見了就怒氣發作，使火在他們中間焚燒，直燒到營的邊界。

摩西所打發、窺探那地的人回來，報那地的惡信，叫全會眾向摩西發怨言，這些報惡信的人都遭瘟疫，死在耶和華面前。

肉在他們牙齒之間尚未嚼爛，耶和華的怒氣就向他們發作，用最重的災殃擊殺了他們。那地方便叫做基博羅‧哈他瓦，因為他們在那裏葬埋那起貪慾之心的人。

以色列全會眾在曠野向摩西、亞倫發怨言，說：「巴不得我們早死在埃及地、耶和華的手下；那時我們坐在肉鍋旁邊，吃得飽足。你們將我們領出來，到這曠野，是要叫這全會眾都餓死啊！」

因沒有把懷我胎的門關閉，也沒有將患難對我的眼隱藏。我為何不出母胎而死？為何不出母腹絕氣？

餓死的不如被刀殺的，因為這是缺了田間的土產，就身體衰弱，漸漸消滅。
