They quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!

They argued with Moses. They said,“ We wish we had died when our people fell dead in front of the Lord.

And the people quarreled with Moses and said,“ Would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

The people blamed Moses and said,“ If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers!

Then the people argued with Moses and spoke, saying,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

所以与摩西争闹，说：“给我们水喝吧！”摩西对他们说：“你们为什么与我争闹？为什么试探耶和华呢？”

摩西刚说完了这一切话，他们脚下的地就开了口，把他们和他们的家眷，并一切属可拉的人丁、财物，都吞下去。这样，他们和一切属他们的，都活活地坠落阴间；地口在他们上头照旧合闭，他们就从会中灭亡。在他们四围的以色列众人听他们呼号，就都逃跑，说：“恐怕地也把我们吞下去。”又有火从耶和华那里出来，烧灭了那献香的二百五十个人。

当下，全会众大声喧嚷；那夜百姓都哭号。以色列众人向摩西、亚伦发怨言；全会众对他们说：“巴不得我们早死在埃及地，或是死在这旷野。

除了因可拉事情死的以外，遭瘟疫死的，共有一万四千七百人。

众百姓发怨言，他们的恶语达到耶和华的耳中。耶和华听见了就怒气发作，使火在他们中间焚烧，直烧到营的边界。

摩西所打发、窥探那地的人回来，报那地的恶信，叫全会众向摩西发怨言，这些报恶信的人都遭瘟疫，死在耶和华面前。

肉在他们牙齿之间尚未嚼烂，耶和华的怒气就向他们发作，用最重的灾殃击杀了他们。那地方便叫作基博罗哈他瓦，因为他们在那里葬埋那起贪欲之心的人。

以色列全会众在旷野向摩西、亚伦发怨言，说：“巴不得我们早死在埃及地、耶和华的手下；那时我们坐在肉锅旁边，吃得饱足。你们将我们领出来，到这旷野，是要叫这全会众都饿死啊！”

因没有把怀我胎的门关闭，也没有将患难对我的眼隐藏。“我为何不出母胎而死？为何不出母腹绝气？

饿死的不如被刀杀的，因为这是缺了田间的土产，就身体衰弱，渐渐消灭。
