我儿啊，现今愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，照他指着你说的话，建造耶和华你神的殿。但愿耶和华赐你聪明智慧，好治理以色列国，遵行耶和华你神的律法。

“我素常在你们中间来往，传讲神国的道；如今我晓得，你们以后都不得再见我的面了。所以我今日向你们证明，你们中间无论何人死亡，罪不在我身上。因为神的旨意，我并没有一样避讳不传给你们的。圣灵立你们作全群的监督，你们就当为自己谨慎，也为全群谨慎，牧养神的教会，就是他用自己血所买来的。我知道，我去之后必有凶暴的豺狼进入你们中间，不爱惜羊群。

“你上这亚巴琳山中的尼波山去，在摩押地与耶利哥相对，观看我所要赐给以色列人为业的迦南地。你必死在你所登的山上，归你列祖去，像你哥哥亚伦死在何珥山上，归他的列祖一样。

“愿耶和华万人之灵的神，立一个人治理会众，可以在他们面前出入，也可以引导他们，免得耶和华的会众如同没有牧人的羊群一般。”耶和华对摩西说：“嫩的儿子约书亚是心中有圣灵的；你将他领来，按手在他头上，使他站在祭司以利亚撒和全会众面前，嘱咐他，又将你的尊荣给他几分，使以色列全会众都听从他。他要站在祭司以利亚撒面前；以利亚撒要凭乌陵的判断，在耶和华面前为他求问。他和以色列全会众都要遵以利亚撒的命出入。”于是摩西照耶和华所吩咐的将约书亚领来，使他站在祭司以利亚撒和全会众面前，按手在他头上，嘱咐他，是照耶和华藉摩西所说的话。

并且，我要尽心竭力，使你们在我去世以后时常记念这些事。

于是，耶和华的仆人摩西死在摩押地，正如耶和华所说的。

这位既是永远常存的，他祭司的职任就长久不更换。凡靠着他进到神面前的人，他都能拯救到底；因为他是长远活着，替他们祈求。

以色列人出了埃及地后四十年，五月初一日，祭司亚伦遵着耶和华的吩咐上何珥山，就死在那里。亚伦死在何珥山的时候年一百二十三岁。住在迦南南地的迦南人亚拉得王听说以色列人来了。以色列人从何珥山起行，安营在撒摩拿。从撒摩拿起行，安营在普嫩。从普嫩起行，安营在阿伯。从阿伯起行，安营在以耶亚巴琳，摩押的边界。从以耶亚巴琳起行，安营在底本迦得。从底本迦得起行，安营在亚门低比拉太音。从亚门低比拉太音起行，安营在尼波对面的亚巴琳山里。从亚巴琳山起行，安营在摩押平原、约旦河边、耶利哥对面。他们在摩押平原沿约旦河边安营，从伯耶施末直到亚伯什亭。

摩西召了约书亚来，在以色列众人眼前对他说：“你当刚强壮胆！因为，你要和这百姓一同进入耶和华向他们列祖起誓应许所赐之地；你也要使他们承受那地为业。耶和华必在你前面行；他必与你同在，必不撇下你，也不丢弃你。不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。”

耶和华赐我许多儿子，在我儿子中拣选所罗门坐耶和华的国位，治理以色列人。耶和华对我说：‘你儿子所罗门必建造我的殿和院宇；因为我拣选他作我的子，我也必作他的父。他若恒久遵行我的诫命典章如今日一样，我就必坚定他的国位，直到永远。’现今在耶和华的会中，以色列众人眼前所说的，我们的神也听见了。你们应当寻求耶和华你们神的一切诫命，谨守遵行，如此你们可以承受这美地，遗留给你们的子孙，永远为业。“我儿所罗门哪，你当认识耶和华你父的神，诚心乐意地侍奉他；因为他鉴察众人的心，知道一切心思意念。你若寻求他，他必使你寻见；你若离弃他，他必永远丢弃你。

大卫又吩咐以色列的众首领帮助他儿子所罗门，说：

嫩的儿子约书亚；因为摩西曾按手在他头上，就被智慧的灵充满，以色列人便听从他，照着耶和华吩咐摩西的行了。
