曰、爾毋得過我疆宇。以東王率其全軍、大力以禦之、

以東王曰、爾決不得過、以東王帥軍眾多、大振威勢、出而欲攻以色列人、

Again they answered:“ You may not pass through.” Then Edom came out against them with a large and powerful army.

Again the people of Edom answered,“ We won’t let you pass through here.” Then the people of Edom marched out against them. They came with a large and powerful army.

But he said,“ You shall not pass through.” And Edom came out against them with a large army and with a strong force.

But the king of Edom replied,“ Stay out! You may not pass through our land.” With that he mobilized his army and marched out against them with an imposing force.

Yet Edom insisted,“ You may not travel through.” And they came out to confront them with a large force of heavily-armed people.

But he said,“ You shall not pass through.” And Edom came out against him with a heavy force and a strong hand.

Then he said,“ You shall not pass through.” So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong hand.

And he said, Thou shalt not pass through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

Yet Edom insisted,“ You must not travel through.” And they came out to confront them with a large force of heavily-armed people.

就派遣使者去见以东王，说：求你让我们经过你的领土。以东王却不答应；又派遣使者去见摩押王，摩押王也不肯；以色列人就住在加低斯。

“耶和华这样说：‘以东三番四次犯罪，我必不收回惩罚他的命令；因为他拿刀追杀他的兄弟，没有丝毫怜悯；他的怒气不断爆发，他的忿怒永不止息。

以东王对使者说：“你不可从我这里经过，免得我带着刀出来攻击你。”

西宏却不信任以色列人，不让他们经过他的境界；西宏聚集了他所有的人民，在雅杂安营，与以色列人争战。

以扫因为他父亲给雅各所祝的福，就怀恨雅各；以扫心里想：“为我父亲守丧的时候近了，到时我必杀我的弟弟雅各。”

因你对兄弟雅各行强暴，你必受羞辱，永被剪除。外地人劫掠雅各财物的日子，外族人进入他的城门，为耶路撒冷抽签；那时你竟袖手旁观，甚至好像他们中间的一分子！你兄弟遭遇祸患的日子，你不该看着不理；犹大人被灭的日子，你不该幸灾乐祸；他们遭难的日子，你不该张口狂傲；我子民遭灾的日子，你不该进入他们的城门；他们遭灾的日子，你不该看着他们受苦；他们遭灾的日子，你不该抢夺他们的财物。你不该站在岔路口，剪除他们中间逃脱的人；他们遭难的日子，你不该把他们生还的人交出来。耶和华的日子临近万国了，人必照你所行的向你施行，你的报应必归到你的头上。

因为你永远怀恨，在以色列人遭遇灾难，刑罚到了顶点的时候，你把他们交在刀剑之下，所以我指着我的永生起誓，我必使你遭受流血的报应，这血必追赶你；你既不恨恶流人的血，这血必追赶你。这是主耶和华的宣告。我必使西珥山非常荒凉，我必从那里剪除来往的人。我必使西珥的众山布满了被杀的人；被刀剑所杀的人必倒在你的小山、山谷和所有的溪涧中。我必使你永远荒凉，你的城市必没有人居住；你们就知道我是耶和华。“‘因为你曾说：这两国这两邦都必归我，我必得它们为业，但其实耶和华还是在那里。所以我指着我的永生起誓：我必照着你因仇恨而向他们所发的忿怒和嫉妒对待你。我审判你的时候，必把自己显明在他们中间。这是主耶和华的宣告。

我希望有和平，但我一说话，他们就要争战。

使者回到雅各那里说：“我们到了你哥哥以扫那里，他带着四百人，正迎着你来。”
