以色列族怨言、我已聞矣。當告之曰、夕可噉肉、朝可飽餅、使知我乃爾之上帝耶和華。

民興怨時、耶和華聞而不悅、勃然震怒、使火燃於民中、營之邊隅被燬。民呼摩西、摩西禱於耶和華、火燄隨熄。稱其地曰、大比剌、以耶和華之火曾燃及之也。雜處流民、貪欲無厭、以色列族泣曰、誰予我肉食。我憶在埃及時、食魚、未嘗傷財、亦食莿瓜、匏瓠韭菜、葱蒜之本。迄今陳於目前者、嗎嗱而已、使我精力衰微、

至馬喇、得水殊苦、人弗能飲、故稱其名曰、馬喇、民怨摩西、曰、我將何飲。

勿怨尤、彼怨尤而亡於天誅、此亦可為我鑒、摩西筆之於書、以警我後世、

讟上帝及摩西曰、奚導我出埃及使死於野、在此無餅無水、所食不能果腹、我心厭之、

以色列會眾、遵耶和華命、自汛野遄征、張幕於哩非停、欲飲無水。民與摩西爭曰、盍予我水。摩西曰、奚與我爭、奚試耶和華乎。民渴甚、怨摩西曰、奚導我出埃及、使我與子及畜燥渴以死。摩西籲耶和華曰、斯民幾欲以石擊我、將若何。
