米利暗和亞倫，為了摩西所娶的古實女子的緣故，就出言反對摩西，因為他娶了一個古實女子為妻。

因為在尋的曠野，會眾爭鬧的時候，你們違背了我的命令，沒有在湧水之地，在會眾眼前尊我為聖。”這湧水之地在尋的曠野，就是加低斯的米利巴水。

雲彩從會幕上離開，米利暗就長了大痲風，像雪那樣白；亞倫轉身過來看米利暗，見她長了大痲風。

自從我們離開加低斯．巴尼亞，直到過了撒烈溪的日子，共有三十八年，等到那世代的戰士都從營中滅絕為止，正像耶和華向他們所起的誓一樣。

你們眾人都走到我這裡來，說：‘我們要先派些人去，替我們窺探那地，然後把我們上去該走哪一條路，該進哪些城，向我們回報。’這話我很同意，就從你們中間選了十二個人，每支派一人。

因為你們在尋的曠野，在加低斯米利巴水邊，在以色列人中間悖逆我，在以色列人中間沒有尊我為聖。

孩子的姊姊遠遠地站著，要知道孩子究竟怎樣。

孩子的姊姊對法老的女兒說：“我去從希伯來婦人中給你請一個奶媽來，為你乳養這個孩子可以嗎？”

我曾經把你從埃及地領上來，把你從為奴之家贖出來；我也差派了摩西、亞倫和米利暗在你前面行。

於是米利暗被關在營外七天；人民沒有啟程，直到把米利暗接回來。

我們向耶和華呼求，他就聽了我們的聲音，派使者把我們從埃及領出來；現在我們就在你邊界上的城加低斯。

耶和華的聲音震撼曠野，耶和華震撼加低斯的曠野。
