米利暗和亞倫因摩西娶了一個古實的女子而批評他，說：

雲彩從會幕上離開的時候，米利暗身上患了痲瘋病，像雪一樣白。亞倫見狀，

我們從離開加低斯·巴尼亞到穿過撒烈溪用了三十八年。期間，那一代戰士都死光了，正如耶和華的誓言。

你們來對我說，『我們要先派人去打探那地方，回來好告訴我們當走哪條路，當佔哪些城。』我同意你們的建議，便從你們當中選出十二人，每支派選一人。

因為在荀曠野，在加低斯的米利巴泉旁，你和亞倫對我不忠，沒有在以色列人中尊我為聖。

我曾帶領你們離開埃及，把你們從受奴役之地救贖出來，又差遣摩西、亞倫和米利暗引領你們。

於是，米利暗被關在營外七天，民眾等她回營後才繼續前行。

但我們呼求耶和華，祂就垂聽了我們的聲音，差遣天使把我們領出埃及。現在我們來到你邊境的加低斯城，

震動曠野，震動加低斯的曠野。
