But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain. I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death.”

I am giving you the priesthood as your special privilege of service. Any unauthorized person who comes too near the sanctuary will be put to death.”

耶和华对摩西说：“告诉你哥哥亚伦，他不可随意进入幔子里面的至圣所，走到约柜上的施恩座前，免得死亡，因为我要在施恩座之上的云彩中显现。

我在以色列各支派中选出你的先祖做我的祭司，在我的祭坛上献祭烧香，穿着以弗得事奉我。我把以色列人献的火祭都赐给你先祖家。

约翰回答说：“除非是从天上赏赐下来的，否则人什么都得不到。

为他们束上腰带，戴上帽子，他们就按永远的条例得到祭司的职分。你要这样把圣职授予他们。

我本来比最卑微的圣徒还卑微，却蒙上帝赐我这恩典，让我把基督那测不透的丰富传给外族人，

然后拿一个香炉，盛满从耶和华面前的祭坛上取的火炭，再拿两把磨细的香带进幔子里。他要在耶和华面前烧香，使香的烟笼罩约柜上的施恩座，免得他死亡。他要取一些牛血，用手指弹洒在施恩座的东面，也要在施恩座前用手指弹洒七次。

没有人能自取这大祭司的尊荣，只有像亚伦一样蒙上帝呼召的人才可以做大祭司。

耶和华对亚伦说：“你在以色列人将得之地不可有产业，不可有份于他们的财产，因为我是你在以色列人中的所得之份，是你的产业。

他们要协助你，负责看守圣幕，办理圣幕的一切事务。外人不可靠近。你们要看守圣所和祭坛，以免我的愤怒再临到以色列人。

在第二道幔子后面的那一间叫至圣所，里面有纯金的香坛和包金的约柜。约柜里珍藏着盛吗哪的金罐、亚伦那根发过芽的手杖和两块刻着十诫的石版，上面有荣耀的基路伯天使，高展翅膀盖着约柜上面的施恩座。关于这些事，现在不能一一细说。这些东西都齐备了，祭司们便经常进入圣所，举行敬拜。

让以色列人引以为戒，使亚伦子孙以外的人不致到耶和华面前烧香，以免像可拉及其同伙一样灭亡。这是按照耶和华借摩西的吩咐做的。

对可拉一伙人说：“到了明天早上，耶和华必显明谁是属于祂的，谁是圣洁的。祂必让祂所拣选的人到祂面前。可拉啊，你们要这样做，你和你的同伙明天带香炉来，在耶和华面前点火添香。耶和华拣选谁，谁就是圣洁的。你们利未人太过分了！”

但我仍放胆写信提醒你们几件事，因为我蒙上帝赐恩，在外族人中做基督耶稣的仆人和上帝福音的祭司，好叫外族人借着圣灵得以圣洁，可以作上帝喜悦的祭物。

摩西、亚伦和亚伦的儿子们要在圣幕东面、朝日出的方向安营，为以色列人在圣所司职。凡擅自走近圣所的人，都要被处死。

在迁移的时候，利未人要负责拆卸和支搭圣幕；其他人若走近圣幕，必被处死。
