對可拉一夥人說：「到了明天早上，耶和華必顯明誰是屬於祂的，誰是聖潔的。祂必讓祂所揀選的人到祂面前。

但你們是蒙揀選的族群，是君尊的祭司，是聖潔的國度，是上帝的子民，因此你們可以宣揚上帝的美德。祂曾呼召你們離開黑暗，進入祂奇妙的光明。

主所愛的弟兄姊妹，我們應該時常為你們感謝上帝，因為上帝一開始就揀選了你們，為了使你們藉著聖靈得以聖潔，並且相信真理，從而得救。

見到以利亞後，就說：「給以色列帶來災禍的就是你嗎？」以利亞回答說：「給以色列帶來災禍的不是我，而是你和你父親家，因為你們拋棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從巴力。

早在創造世界以前，祂已經在基督裡揀選了我們，使我們在祂眼中成為聖潔無瑕的人。

耶穌進了聖殿，正在教導人的時候，祭司長和民間的長老來質問祂：「你憑什麼權柄做這些事？誰授權給你了？」耶穌說：「我也要問你們一個問題，你們回答了，我就告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。約翰的洗禮是從哪裡來的？從天上來的，還是從人來的？」他們便彼此議論說：「如果我們說『是從天上來的』，祂一定會問我們，『那你們為什麼不信他？』但如果我們說『是從人來的』，又怕觸怒百姓，因為他們相信約翰是個先知。」於是，他們回答耶穌說：「我們不知道。」耶穌說：「我也不告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。」
