They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them,“ You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”

They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron. They said to Moses and Aaron,“ You have gone too far! The whole community is holy. Every one in it is holy. And the Lord is with them. So why do you put yourselves above the Lord’ s people?”

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them,“ You have gone too far! For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

They united against Moses and Aaron and said,“ You have gone too far! The whole community of Israel has been set apart by the Lord, and he is with all of us. What right do you have to act as though you are greater than the rest of the Lord’s people?”

They came together against Moses and Aaron and told them,“ You have gone too far! Everyone in the entire community is holy, and the LORD is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the LORD’s assembly?”

They assembled together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ You have gone far enough! For all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is in their midst; so why do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

They gathered together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ You take too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

明天你們要在耶和華面前，把火盛在爐中，把香放在上面；耶和華揀選誰，誰就是聖潔的，你們利未人太過分了。”

你們心裡不要以為：‘我們有亞伯拉罕作我們的祖宗。’我告訴你們，神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起後裔來。現在斧頭已經放在樹根上，所有不結好果子的樹，就砍下來，丟在火裡。

“你們頸項剛硬、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪！你們時常抗拒聖靈，你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。

我要住在以色列人中間，我也要作他們的神。他們必知道我是耶和華他們的神，就是從埃及地把他們領出來的，為要住在他們中間。我是耶和華他們的神。”

他們為自己和自己的兒子娶了這些外族的女子為妻，以致聖潔的種族與當地的民族混雜了；而領袖和官長竟是這不忠的事的罪魁。’

所以你和你的同黨聚集起來反抗耶和華；亞倫算甚麼呢？你們竟向他發怨言。”

因為表面上作猶太人的並不是猶太人，在肉身上表面的割禮也不是割禮。唯有在內心作猶太人的才是猶太人；割禮也是心裡的，是靠著聖靈而不是靠著儀文。這樣的人所受的稱讚，不是從人來的，而是從神來的。

當時，全體會眾大聲喧嚷；那夜眾民都哭號。以色列人向摩西和亞倫發怨言；全體會眾都對他們說：“但願我們早死在埃及地，或死在這曠野。耶和華為甚麼把我們領到這地來，死在刀劍之下呢？我們的妻子和孩子要被擄掠。我們回埃及去，豈不更好嗎？”於是他們彼此說：“我們另立一個首領，回埃及去吧。”

耶和華說：“你們獻上眾多祭物，對我有甚麼益處呢？公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我已經夠了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我都不喜悅。你們來朝見我的時候，誰要求你們這樣踐踏我的院子呢？不要再帶沒有意義的供物來了，燒獻祭物的香氣也是我厭惡的。我厭煩月朔、安息日和集會；作罪孽又守嚴肅會，是我不能容忍的。你們的月朔和制定的節期，我心裡恨惡；它們都成了我的重擔，我已承擔得不耐煩了。所以你們張開雙手的時候，我必掩眼不看你們；即使你們多多禱告，我也不聽；你們的手都沾滿血腥。你們要洗滌自己，潔淨自己；從我眼前除掉你們的惡行；要停止作惡，

你們不可玷污你所住的地，就是我居住的地，因為我耶和華是居住在以色列人中間的。’”

我們的祖先不肯聽從他，反而把他推開，他們的心已經轉向了埃及，

萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：“你們要改正自己的所作所為，我就讓你們在這地方居住。你們不要倚靠虛謊的話，說：‘這是耶和華的殿，是耶和華的殿，是耶和華的殿。’如果你們實在改正自己的所作所為，人與人之間認真施行公正；如果你們不欺壓寄居的，不欺壓孤兒寡婦，不在這地方流無辜人的血，也不跟從別的神，自招禍患；我就讓你們在賜給你們列祖直到永遠的這地方居住。“可是，你們竟然倚靠虛謊無益的話。你們怎可偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、起假誓、向巴力燒香，跟從你們素不認識的別神，然後來到這稱為我名下的殿，站在我面前，說：‘我們安全啦！’你們這樣就可以行這一切可憎的事嗎？這稱為我名下的殿，難道在你們眼中看為賊窩嗎？但我都看見了。”這是耶和華的宣告。“你們可以到示羅我的地方去，就是先前我名的居所，看看我因我子民以色列的邪惡，對那地方所行的。

米利暗和亞倫，為了摩西所娶的古實女子的緣故，就出言反對摩西，因為他娶了一個古實女子為妻。他們說：“難道耶和華單單與摩西說話，不也與我們說話嗎？”這話耶和華聽見了。

神的車馬千千萬萬；主從西奈山來到他的聖所中（本句原文作“主在其中，西奈山在聖所中”）。
