住在山区的亚摩利人蜂拥出击，打败了你们，从西珥追杀你们，一直追到何珥玛。

你们会遇见亚玛力人和迦南人，并丧身在他们刀下，因为你们离弃耶和华，祂不再与你们同在。”

摩西说：“耶和华已经起誓要世代与亚玛力人为敌。”

若不是他们的磐石卖掉他们，若不是耶和华抛弃他们，一人怎能赶散他们千人？二人怎能击溃他们万人？

以色列人犯了罪，违背了我吩咐他们应守的约，偷拿了本该毁灭的东西放在自己的行囊里，还撒谎。所以，以色列人受咒诅，无法抵挡敌人，掉头败逃。你必须将那些本该毁灭的东西从你们中间除掉，不然我就不再与你们同在。

艾城的人杀了他们三十六人，从城门前追杀他们，一直到示巴琳，在下坡处杀败他们。以色列人吓得心惊胆战。
