Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the highest point in the hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the Lord’s covenant moved from the camp.

But they wouldn’t listen. They still went up toward the highest point in the hill country. They went up even though Moses didn’t move from the camp. They went even though the ark of the Lord’ s covenant didn’t move from the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp.

But the people defiantly pushed ahead toward the hill country, even though neither Moses nor the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant left the camp.

But they dared to go up the ridge of the hill country, even though the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses did not leave the camp.

But they foolishly dared to go up to the ridge of the hill country; neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses left the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

But they dared to go up the ridge of the hill country, even though the ark of the Lord’s covenant and Moses did not leave the camp.

我以告爾、爾不聽從、違逆耶和華擅自登山、

民歸營時、以色列長老議曰、耶和華今日使我敗於非利士人前、曷故。盍攜耶和華約匱、自示羅至此、可援我於敵手。當時有居𠼻𡀔［口氷］間萬物主耶和華之約匱在示羅、以利二子、何弗尼非尼哈在側、民遣使詣彼、以攜之至。既至於營、以色列族大聲號呼、地為震動。非利士人聞號呼之聲、則曰、希百來營號呼曷故。問之於人。知耶和華之匱已至於營。非利士人懼曰、上帝至營。又曰、噫嘻、前此未嘗若是。昔在曠野、降災於埃及、即此有能之上帝、孰克拯我於其手乎。我非利士人、當強我志、自為豪傑、不服役於希百來族、如彼疇昔服役於我、當為豪傑、而與之戰。非利士人遂戰、敗以色列族、使各歸故幕、大戮其眾、死者三萬。上帝之匱見奪、以利二子、何弗尼非尼哈被殺。

摩西遣之、又遣祭司以利亞撒子非尼哈執聖器、吹號角、

於是離耶和華之山、歷程三日、耶和華之法匱先行、將擇安處之所。

若其犯罪、毫無畏葸、則欺我孰甚、不論宗族賓旅必殄絕於民中。
