Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the highest point in the hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the Lord’s covenant moved from the camp.

But they wouldn’t listen. They still went up toward the highest point in the hill country. They went up even though Moses didn’t move from the camp. They went even though the ark of the Lord’ s covenant didn’t move from the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp.

But the people defiantly pushed ahead toward the hill country, even though neither Moses nor the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant left the camp.

But they dared to go up the ridge of the hill country, even though the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses did not leave the camp.

But they foolishly dared to go up to the ridge of the hill country; neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses left the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

我以是告爾、爾不聽從、違背主命、擅敢登山、

民既歸營、以色列長老議曰、今日主使我敗於非利士人前何故、盍請主之約匱自示羅至此、約匱至我中、可救我脫於敵手、民遣人至示羅、由彼以居基路伯間萬有之主之約匱舁來、以利二子何弗尼非尼哈偕至、守天主之約匱、主之約匱既至營中、以色列眾大聲號呼、地為之震動、非利士人聞號呼之聲、則曰、希伯來人營中大聲號呼何故、後乃知主之約匱至營、非利士人懼曰、有神至其營、又曰、禍哉我儕、前此前此原文作昨日前日未嘗若是、禍哉我儕、誰能救我脫於此大能之神乎、昔在曠野、降各災於伊及人者、即此神也、爾非利士人、當努力為豪傑、不然、惟恐爾役事希伯來人、如彼役事爾然、當為豪傑而與之戰、非利士人遂戰、以色列人敗、人各遁歸己幕、被殺者甚眾、以色列步卒、倒斃者三萬、天主之匱被擄、以利二子何弗尼非尼哈死焉、

摩西乃遣各支派之一千人出徵、又遣祭司以利亞撒子非尼哈偕往、非尼哈攜聖器及號角、

於是以色列人離主之山、歷程三日、主之法匱、先行三日之程、為之尋列營之所、

無論為土著、為外邦客旅、若敢故犯、即褻瀆主、其人必滅絕於民中、
