緣其欺我、故我所誓、錫厥祖之地、彼不能覯止、

必不得見我所誓賜其列祖之地、凡棄我者、皆不得見之、

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.

So not even one of them will ever see the land I promised to give to their people of long ago. The person who has not respected me will never see it.

出埃及之有眾、自二十歲以上者、既不竭忠從我、故所誓亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地必不能得、

昔在西乃野、摩西與祭司亞倫曾核其眾、迄今被數之時、無一人在者、

彼尚在曠野、我誓不導之入產乳與蜜之地、斯地列國所羨美。

昔我以腴壤、誓與其祖宗、斯代之民素惡、必弗能得、惟耶孚尼子迦勒、竭忠從我、則可得見、其所履之地、我將錫之、爰及子孫。當時耶和華緣爾故怒我、曰、爾不可入斯土、惟侍爾側者、嫩之子約書亞可入、當強厥志、使輔翼以色列族以得斯業。當時耶和華亦諭爾曰、爾之子女幼稚、不能別善惡、爾曾言必為敵所擄、我則錫以斯土、使彼入而得之、惟爾曹當返旆、道由紅海、詣曠野以遄征。時爾曹對曰、我曾違逆我上帝耶和華、今遵其命、前往以戰、維時各執器械、備以登山。耶和華命我、普告於眾、曰、耶和華不佑爾、勿往以戰、恐敗於敵、我以告爾、爾不聽從、違逆耶和華擅自登山、居山之亞摩哩人出、驅逐爾曹、勢若蜂擁、遂致敗績、自西耳山至於曷馬、爾乃返旆、哭於耶和華前、不蒙垂聽、

上帝於四十載中憾誰、非犯罪而暴骨於野者乎、上帝誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非不信之徒乎、

予怒而誓之、毋俾斯人、享余安息兮。

耶和華發誓、俾民敗亡於野兮、

惟我信者、得享上帝安息、經云、我怒誓不許不信者享吾安息、此言上帝創世之時、事畢而安息、

斯民之苗裔、爾使之繁衍、如天星眾多、昔爾以土地許錫列祖、後導其子孫入焉、據而有之、迦南人居斯土、爾使民敗之、虜其君臣、惟所欲為。
