必不得見我所誓賜其列祖之地、凡棄我者、皆不得見之、

緣其欺我、故我所誓、錫厥祖之地、彼不能覯止、

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.

So not even one of them will ever see the land I promised to give to their people of long ago. The person who has not respected me will never see it.

出伊及之眾、自二十歲以上者、因不忠心從我、必不得見我誓賜亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之地、

昔摩西與祭司亞倫計以色列人於西乃野、彼時被數者、無一人在今所數者之中、

我亦在曠野為之發誓、必不導之入我所賜之之地、即流乳與蜜之地、其地在列國中最佳美、

斯惡劣之世代、其中必無一人得見我誓賜爾祖之美地、惟耶孚尼子迦勒盡心從我耶和華、則必得見、其所履之地、我將賜之及其子孫、主緣爾之故、亦怒我曰、爾亦不得入斯地、惟事爾者嫩之子約書亞、彼必得入、當強其志、彼必使以色列人得斯地為業、爾之幼穉、即爾所言必被擄者、爾之子女、今尚不知辨別善惡者、必得入斯地、我將賜於彼、必得之為業、惟爾曹當旋返往曠野、向紅海而行、時、爾曹對我曰、我獲罪於主、願前往以戰、遵主我之天主所命我者、於是各執器械、輕遽登山、主命我曰、當告民曰、毋往毋戰、我耶和華不在爾中、恐敗於敵、我以是告爾、爾不聽從、違背主命、擅敢登山、居山之亞摩利人、出以敵爾、追逐爾曹、勢若蜂擁、在西珥殺敗爾曹、直至何珥瑪、爾曹乃歸、哭於主前、主不俯聽爾聲、不向爾側耳、

天主於四十年間怒誰、非犯罪而屍仆於曠野者乎、天主誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非違背違背或作不信之人乎、

我遂震怒而誓曰、必不容其人享我安息、

於是主舉手而誓、必使之仆亡曠野、

惟我儕已信者、得享安息、如主云、我怒而誓、必不許其享我之安息、其實造物之工、自創世以來皆已竣矣、

主使其苗裔蕃衍、如天星眾多、主導之入所許其列祖之地、得以為業、
