not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—

And here is what you can be just as sure of. Not one of these people will see the land I promised to give them. They have seen my glory. They have seen the signs I did in Egypt. And they have seen what I did in the desert. But they did not obey me. And they have tested me ten times.

none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice,

not one of these people will ever enter that land. They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice.

Certainly all the people who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice,

because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,

because all those men that have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wrought in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

none of the men who have seen My glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tested Me these 10 times and did not obey Me,

你們這十次八次地侮辱我；苛刻地批評我、也不以為恥。

上帝四十年厭惡誰呢？豈不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人麼？他向誰起誓說、他們必不得以進入他的安息呢？豈不是向那些硬不信從的人是向誰呢？

你們父親又怎樣愚弄我，十次八次地更換了我的工價；然而上帝卻不容他害我。

因此他對他們舉了手起誓，必使他們倒斃於曠野，

人民就和摩西吵鬧，說：『給我們水喝吧。』摩西對他們說：『你們為甚麼和我吵鬧？為甚麼試探永恆主呢？』

我們也不要故意試探主，像他們有人試探了，就被蛇所滅。

耶穌對他說：『又有記着說：「不可故意試探主你的上帝。」』

然而他們大多數人、上帝並不喜悅：他們都在野地覆亡了。

在那裏，你們的祖宗以試驗試探我，看我的作為四十年。

人民見摩西拖延着下山，就聚集去見亞倫，對他說：『起來，給我們造神像可以在我們前面引路的，因為那摩西、那領我們從埃及地上來的那個人、我們不知道他怎麼樣了。』

反倒在曠野大起貪慾之心，在荒野中試探着上帝；

對摩西說：『難道在埃及沒有墳墓，你得把我們帶來，死在曠野麼？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？

又正如在曠野他為你們所行的；在曠野你們曾看見永恆主你們的上帝怎樣在你們所行的一路上背着你們，如同人背着兒子一樣，直到你們到達了這地方。」雖然聽了這話，你們還沒有信靠永恆主你們的上帝的心；其實卻是他在路上、在你們前面領路，為你們探覓紮營的地方，夜間用火、日間用雲、指示你們所應當行的路。『永恆主聽見了你們的話的語氣，就惱怒，便起誓說：「這壞世代的人、連一個也不得以看見我所起誓應許給你們列祖的美好之地；

永恆主對摩西說：『這人民藐視我、要到幾時呢？雖有我在他們中間所行的一切神迹、他們還不信我、要到幾時呢？

我這二十年在你家裏；為了你的兩個女兒，我服事你十四年；為了你的羊羣，我服事你六年；你竟十次八次地更換了我的工價。

如今我們呢、竟稱傲慢人為有福了！而行惡的人居然得建立了！他們雖試探上帝，卻還得逃脫、免受災難呢！」』

那時你們的祖宗試我，探我，雖曾看我的作為。四十年之久我討厭那世代，說：『這是心裏迷糊的人民，不曉得我所行的；』因此我發義怒地起誓說：他們斷不得以進我所賜的安居地。
