And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!

All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them,“ If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!

The Israelites spoke against Moses and Aaron. The whole community said to them,“ We wish we had died in Egypt or even in this desert.

And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!

Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron.“ If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the entire congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or even if we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!

All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

And the people complained against Moses, saying,“ What shall we drink?”

On the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the people of the Lord.”

Do all things without complaining and disputing,that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said,“ Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!”

Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.And the children of Israel said to them,“ Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said,“ It is better for me to die than to live.”

If You treat me like this, please kill me here and now— if I have found favor in Your sight— and do not let me see my wretchedness!”

Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.

“ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me.Say to them,‘ As I live,’ says the Lord,‘ just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.

Then they despised the pleasant land; They did not believe His word,

and you complained in your tents, and said,‘ Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

So that my soul chooses strangling And death rather than my body.I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, For my days are but a breath.

“ Why did I not die at birth? Why did I not perish when I came from the womb?

And for their sake He remembered His covenant, And relented according to the multitude of His mercies.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said,“ It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”
