And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the entire congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or even if we had died in this wilderness!

All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them,“ If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!

The Israelites spoke against Moses and Aaron. The whole community said to them,“ We wish we had died in Egypt or even in this desert.

And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!

Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron.“ If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!

All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

So the people grumbled at Moses, saying,“ What are we to drink?”

But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You are the ones who have caused the death of the Lord’s people!”

Do all things without complaining or arguments;so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.

Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.

But the people were thirsty for water there; and they grumbled against Moses and said,“ Why is it that you have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

So now, Lord, please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life.”

But the whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.The sons of Israel said to them,“ If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread until we were full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this entire assembly with hunger!”

And when the sun came up God designated a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah’s head so that he became faint, and he begged with all his soul to die, saying,“ Death is better to me than life!”

So if You are going to deal with me this way, please kill me now, if I have found favor in Your sight, and do not let me see my misery.”

Now the people became like those who complain of adversity in the ears of the Lord; and the Lord heard them and His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some at the outskirts of the camp.

“ How long shall I put up with this evil congregation who are grumbling against Me? I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel which they are voicing against Me.Say to them,‘ As I live,’ declares the Lord,‘ just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you;your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness, all your numbered men according to your complete number from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against Me.

Then they rejected the pleasant land; They did not believe His word,

and you grumbled in your tents and said,‘ Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to hand us over to the Amorites to destroy us.

So that my soul would choose suffocation, Death rather than my pains.I waste away; I will not live forever. Leave me alone, for my days are only a breath.

“ Why did I not die at birth, Come out of the womb and pass away?

And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His mercy.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he asked for himself to die, and said,“ Enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”
