All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them,“ If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!

The Israelites spoke against Moses and Aaron. The whole community said to them,“ We wish we had died in Egypt or even in this desert.

And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!

Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron.“ If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the entire congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or even if we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!

All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!

All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

人民就向摩西发怨言，说：“我们喝什么呢？”

第二天，以色列全体会众都向摩西和亚伦发怨言，说：“你们害死了耶和华的子民。”

无论作什么，都不要发怨言、起争论，好使你们无可指摘、纯真无邪，在这弯曲乖谬的世代中，作神没有瑕疵的儿女；你们要在这世代中发光，好像天上的光体一样，

这些人常发牢骚，怨天尤人，顺着自己的私欲行事，口说夸张的话，为了利益就不惜阿谀奉承。

你们也不可发怨言，像他们有些人那样，就被那毁灭者所灭。

人民在那里渴望得水喝，就向摩西发怨言，说：“你为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们和我们的儿女，以及我们的牲畜都渴死呢？”

耶和华啊！现在求你取去我的性命吧，因为我死了比活着还好。”

以色列全体会众在旷野都向摩西和亚伦发怨言；以色列人对他们说：“我们宁愿在埃及地坐在肉锅旁边，吃饭吃到饱的时候，死在耶和华的手里！你们倒把我们领出来，到这旷野，是要叫这全体会众饿死啊！”

日出的时候，神又安排炎热的东风。烈日晒在约拿的头上，以致发昏，他就为自己求死，说：“我死了比活着还好。”

你既然这样待我，如果我在你面前蒙恩，求你把我杀了，免得我看见自己的苦楚。”

人民发怨言，恶声达到耶和华的耳中；耶和华听见了，就发烈怒；耶和华的火就在他们中间焚烧，烧毁了营地的边界。

“这恶会众向我发怨言要到几时呢？以色列人向我所发的怨言，我都听见了。你要对他们说：‘耶和华说，我指着我的永生起誓，我必照着你们所说给我听的，对待你们：你们的尸体必倒在这旷野；你们中间被数点过的，就是按着你们的数目，从二十岁及以上，向我发过怨言的，

他们又轻视那美地，不信他的应许。

你们在帐幕里抱怨，说：‘耶和华因为恨我们，所以把我们从埃及地领出来，要把我们交在亚摩利人手中，消灭我们。

以致我宁可窒息而死，也不肯保留我这一身的骨头。我厌恶自己，不愿永远活下去。任凭我吧，因为我的日子都是空虚的。

我为什么不一离母胎就死去？我为什么不一出母腹就断气？

他为他们的缘故记念他自己的约，照着他丰盛的慈爱回心转意。

他自己却在旷野走了一天的路，来到一棵罗腾树下，就坐在那里求死，说：“耶和华啊，现在已经够了，求你取我的性命吧，因为我并不比我的列祖好。”
