時猶大支派至吉甲有基尼洗人耶孚尼子迦勒、告約書亞曰、昔耶和華諭其僕摩西、論爾我之事、爾知之矣。其時我年四十、耶和華僕摩西自迦鐵巴尼亞遣我、窺察斯土、我誠心以復命。偕行者使民喪膽、惟我竭忠遵從我上帝耶和華。

我乃爾之上帝、必左右爾、扶翼爾、手援爾、以彰仁義、故勿畏葸、勿狐疑、憾爾者皆愧怍、敵爾者俱死亡、凡與爾戰、必歸烏有、欲見無從。我耶和華爾之上帝、必攜爾手、謂爾曰、予扶翼爾、故勿恐懼、雅各家以色列族、素若蚯蚓、我耶和華乃爾聖主、必加拯救、眷祐爾躬。爾之仇敵、高若山岡、我將使爾為打榖之器、惟新其製、而有利齒、可擊諸敵、擣之成粉、有若秕糠。後簸揚之、任風吹散。我耶和華乃以色列族之聖主、爾曹賴我、其樂靡涯。

然我賴愛我者、故勝諸事而有餘、

彼有信故能服敵國、行公義、獲所許之福、箝獅口、

耶和華兮、賜予光明福祉、余何慮兮、扞衛我躬、予何懼兮、作惡者流、為予仇敵、欲噬我肉、今蹶其趾、淪胥以亡兮、
