However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there.

然而住那地的民强壮，城邑也坚固宽大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲族的人。

但是住那地的百姓很强悍，城镇又大又坚固，我们也在那里看见了亚衲族人。

( The Emim formerly lived there, a people great and many, and tall as the Anakim.Like the Anakim they are also counted as Rephaim, but the Moabites call them Emim.

And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the descendants of Anak.

All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides very many unwalled villages.

There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the people of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did some remain.

Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there.( Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)And they came to the Valley of Eshcol and cut down from there a branch with a single cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them; they also brought some pomegranates and figs.

And Hebron was given to Caleb, as Moses had said. And he drove out from it the three sons of Anak.
