命嫩之子約書亞曰、強乃志、壯乃心、蓋爾必導以色列族、入耶和華所誓之地、彼必佑爾。○

我必豢養之、俾適樂郊、以色列高岡之巔、爰有羊牢、以之賜彼、使之偃卧於樂嘉之苑、齧蒭於芳草之場、即以色列族之山也。

取鞏固之城、膏腴之壤、宅第中充以嘉物、井泉、葡萄園橄欖囿、結實之樹、不可勝數、食之果腹、體胖、中心喜悅、賴爾鴻恩、

爾施厚恩、賜其得國、恢廓腴壤、彼猶不悛厥惡、不奉事爾。

耶利歌王遣人、謂喇合曰、有人至此、窺察我地、已入爾室、爾攜之來。

二人往山、居彼三日、待追者反、蓋追者求之於途不得。二人下山、濟河而歸、以實告約書亞、

強乃志、壯乃心、昔我誓厥祖、欲以斯地賜斯民、汝必使民得之、

嗚呼哀哉、敬虔者為義者、在於斯土、翦除已盡、我欲得一人而不能、譬諸初稔之無花果、毫無所獲、其故何與、因夏果已收、葡萄已拾也、維彼眾民、設伏以殺人、設網以陷人、

遂至以實各谷、在彼斫下葡萄之枝、枝上其實纍然、二人貫之以杖、負之以肩、又取石榴與無花果、因在彼有葡萄果纍然、以色列族斫之、故稱其地以實各谷。○

我豈不曰、強爾志、壯爾心、切勿恐懼、不論所往、爾上帝耶和華佑爾。○

取其土產、以復於我、曰、我上帝耶和華所賜者、膏腴之壤也。

如是、我可毅然曰、主助我、任人所為、我不惴焉、

強乃志、壯乃心、毋恐懼、毋畏葸、爾之上帝耶和華佑爾、必不遺棄爾。摩西在以色列眾前、召約書亞、告之曰、強乃志、壯乃心、昔耶和華與列祖發誓、以斯土予民、爾必偕行、使彼得之、耶和華為爾先導、左右爾、不遺棄爾、毋恐懼、毋畏葸。○

今願耶和華祐爾、使爾亨通、為爾上帝耶和華建殿、循其所言。

民怨於摩西前、迦勒止之曰、我儕能克其地、當往取之。偕行者曰、彼強於我、我不可往、
