耶和华嘱咐嫩的儿子约书亚说：“你当刚强壮胆，因为你必领以色列人进我所起誓应许他们的地；我必与你同在。”

我必在美好的草场牧养它们。它们的圈必在以色列高处的山上，它们必在佳美之圈中躺卧，也在以色列山肥美的草场吃草。

他们得了坚固的城邑、肥美的地土、充满各样美物的房屋、凿成的水井、葡萄园、橄榄园，并许多果木树。他们就吃而得饱，身体肥胖，因你的大恩，心中快乐。

他们在本国里沾你大恩的时候，在你所赐给他们这广大肥美之地上不侍奉你，也不转离他们的恶行。

耶利哥王打发人去见喇合说：“那来到你这里、进了你家的人要交出来，因为他们来窥探全地。”

二人到山上，在那里住了三天，等着追赶的人回去了。追赶的人一路找他们，却找不着。二人就下山回来，过了河，到嫩的儿子约书亚那里，向他述说所遭遇的一切事；

你当刚强壮胆！因为你必使这百姓承受那地为业，就是我向他们列祖起誓应许赐给他们的地。

哀哉！我好像夏天的果子已被收尽，又像摘了葡萄所剩下的，没有一挂可吃的；我心羡慕初熟的无花果。

他们到了以实各谷，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。（因为以色列人从那里砍来的那挂葡萄，所以那地方叫做以实各谷。）

我岂没有吩咐你吗？你当刚强壮胆！不要惧怕，也不要惊惶；因为你无论往哪里去，耶和华你的神必与你同在。”

他们手里拿着那地的果子下来，到我们那里，回报说：‘耶和华我们的神所赐给我们的是美地。’

所以我们可以放胆说：“主是帮助我的，我必不惧怕；人能把我怎么样呢？”

你们当刚强壮胆，不要害怕，也不要畏惧他们，因为耶和华你的神和你同去。他必不撇下你，也不丢弃你。”摩西召了约书亚来，在以色列众人眼前对他说：“你当刚强壮胆！因为，你要和这百姓一同进入耶和华向他们列祖起誓应许所赐之地；你也要使他们承受那地为业。耶和华必在你前面行；他必与你同在，必不撇下你，也不丢弃你。不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。”

我儿啊，现今愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，照他指着你说的话，建造耶和华你神的殿。

迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓，说：“我们立刻上去得那地吧！我们足能得胜。”但那些和他同去的人说：“我们不能上去攻击那民，因为他们比我们强壮。”
