耶和华嘱咐嫩的儿子约书亚：“你要刚强勇敢，因为你要带领以色列人进入我起誓应许他们的土地，我必与你同在。”

我要在佳美的草场上牧养他们，以色列的山岭必成为他们的草场。他们要在佳美的草场上安卧，在以色列山岭的肥美草场上吃草。

他们夺取坚固的城池、肥沃的土地、装满美物的房屋、挖好的水井、葡萄园、橄榄园以及各样的果树。他们吃得饱足，身体发胖，享受你的厚恩。

他们即使在本国，在你赐给他们广阔肥沃的土地上得享你的厚恩，也不事奉你，不离开恶道。

耶利哥王便派人到喇合那里，对她说：“把来到你家里的人交出来，因为他们是来刺探我们的。”

二人到山上躲藏了三天，等待追捕的人回去。追捕的人沿途搜索，毫无所获，便回去了。二人便下山，过河回到嫩的儿子约书亚那里，向他禀告整个经过，

你要刚强勇敢，因为你要带领这些人占领我起誓赐给他们祖先的土地。

我真悲惨！就像夏天的果子已被收尽，葡萄已被摘净，找不到一串可吃的，寻不见我心中渴望的初熟无花果。

他们来到以实各谷，在那里砍下一根葡萄枝，上面有一串葡萄，由两个人用杠子抬着，又采了一些石榴和无花果。因为他们在那里砍了一串葡萄，所以就称那地方为以实各谷。

我再次吩咐你，要刚强勇敢！不要害怕，也不要灰心，因为你无论走到哪里，你的上帝耶和华必与你同在。”

他们带回来一些那里的果子，禀告说，‘我们的上帝耶和华赐给我们的地方很好。’

这样，我们可以放胆地说：“主是我的帮助，我必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样？”

你们要刚强勇敢，不要怕他们，因为你们的上帝耶和华与你们同在，祂不会撇下你们，也不会离弃你们。”摩西把约书亚叫来，当着全体以色列人的面对他说：“你要刚强勇敢！因为你要带领百姓进入耶和华起誓赐给他们祖先的土地，把土地分给他们。耶和华必带领你，与你同在。祂不会撇下你，也不会离弃你。不要害怕，也不要沮丧。”

“儿啊，愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，照你的上帝耶和华的吩咐去建造祂的殿。

迦勒让站在摩西面前的民众安静，然后说：“我们立刻去占领那地方吧！我们必能取胜。”跟他一起去打探的人却说：“我们不能去攻打那些人，他们比我们强大。”
