When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said,“ Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country.

南至亞克拉濱岡、延至汛野、自此而南、至迦鐵巴尼亞、又至希斯崙、及亞撻、環繞甲迦、

猶大族為耶和華所祐、遂據山地、其不能逐居谷之人者、以有鐵車故也。

亞伯蘭與妻並羅得、及凡所有者、出埃及、往詣南方、

夙興登山、曰我儕有罪、今欲往耶和華所許之地、

居山之亞摩哩人出、驅逐爾曹、勢若蜂擁、遂致敗績、自西耳山至於曷馬、

亞馬力族居南方、赫人、耶布士人、亞摩哩人居山、迦南人瀕海與約但河居焉。

西亭谷多石油坑、所多馬王、蛾摩拉王奔而陷坑、其餘遁於山、

其人遂往窺地、自汛野至哩哈、近哈馬之道。轉而南向、至希伯崙、原其建邑之始、前於埃及人之建鎖安七年、在彼見亞納子亞希慢、示篩、達買。
