When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said,“ Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country.

他們次日清早起來到山頂去，說：「我們知罪了，現在我們要去耶和華應許的地方。」

住在山區的亞摩利人蜂擁出擊，打敗了你們，從西珥追殺你們，一直追到何珥瑪。

亞瑪力人住在南地，赫人、耶布斯人和亞摩利人住在山區，迦南人住在海邊和約旦河沿岸。」

西訂谷有許多柏油坑，所多瑪王和蛾摩拉王敗走的時候，有些人掉進坑裡，其他人都往山上逃命。

於是，他們從荀曠野一直打探到哈馬口附近的利合。他們經南地到達希伯崙。希伯崙城比埃及的鎖安城還要早建七年，那裡住著亞衲人的子孫亞希幔、示篩和撻買。
