When Saul and his servant arrived at Gibeah, they saw a group of prophets coming toward them. Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he, too, began to prophesy.

or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed,“ Elijah’s spirit rests upon Elisha!” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns.

He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them.

The cloud of the Lord hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys.

A man dishonors his head if he covers his head while praying or prophesying.But a woman dishonors her head if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head, for this is the same as shaving her head.

‘ In the last days,’ God says,‘ I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants— men and women alike— and they will prophesy.

They will be playing a harp, a tambourine, a flute, and a lyre, and they will be prophesying.At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives— especially the ability to prophesy.For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.

Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh.

One of them named Agabus stood up in one of the meetings and predicted by the Spirit that a great famine was coming upon the entire Roman world.( This was fulfilled during the reign of Claudius.)

But even as he was saying this, a cloud overshadowed them, and terror gripped them as the cloud covered them.Then a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.”
