Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied— but did not do so again.

掃羅就派人去捉拿大衛。他們看見一隊先知正在說預言，撒母耳站在前頭帶領他們。神的靈臨到掃羅派來的人身上，他們也說預言。有人報告給掃羅，他就派遣另外一些人去，結果他們也說預言。掃羅第三次再派人去，他們也說預言。於是掃羅親自往拉瑪去。他來到在塞庫那裡的大水窖，詢問說：「撒母耳和大衛在哪裡？」有人回答：「看哪，在拉瑪的納約特。」掃羅就從那裡往拉瑪的納約特去。神的靈也臨到他，他一邊走一邊說預言，一直來到拉瑪的納約特。他脫下衣服，也在撒母耳面前說預言，整日整夜赤身躺臥。因此人們說：「難道掃羅也算在先知中嗎？」

他來到那座山，看哪，有一隊先知迎見他。神的靈大大臨到他，他就在他們中間說預言。

因為預言從來不是藉著人的意思傳來的，而是人受聖靈的感動說出從神而來的話。

一切美好的賞賜和各樣完美的恩賜，都是從上面、從眾光之父降下來的；在他沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影子。

先知的靈是服從先知的，

他在雲柱中向他們說話；他們持守了他賜給他們的法度和律例。

他有四個女兒，都是童貞女，是做先知傳道的。我們住了好幾天，有一個名叫阿伽布斯的先知從猶太下來了。他來到我們這裡，拿起保羅的腰帶，把自己的手腳捆起來，說：「聖靈這樣說，猶太人在耶路撒冷要如此捆綁這腰帶的主人，把他交在外邦人的手中。」

凡是男人在禱告或做先知傳道的時候，如果蒙著頭，就是羞辱自己的頭；凡是女人在禱告或做先知傳道的時候，如果不蒙著頭，就是羞辱自己的頭，因為這與頭髮被剃掉了是同樣一件事。

『神說，在末後的那些日子裡將是這樣：我要把我的靈傾注在所有人身上，你們的兒女要說預言，你們的年輕人要見異象，你們的老年人要做異夢。是的，在那些日子裡，我也要將我的靈傾注在我的奴僕和婢女們身上，他們就要說預言。

「此後你要去神的山，那裡有非利士的駐軍。你到那城的時候，會遇見一隊先知正從高所下來，他們都在說預言；在他們前面有彈里拉琴的、擊鼓的、吹笛的、彈豎琴的。耶和華的靈會大大臨到你，你就會與他們一同說預言，轉變為另一個人。

你們要追求愛，也要渴慕屬靈的事，但更要渴慕做先知傳道。原來那說殊言的，不是對人說，而是對神說，因為沒有人聽得懂；他是在靈裡講說各樣的奧祕。可是那做先知傳道的是對人說，為要造就、鼓勵和安慰人。

其中有一個名叫阿伽布斯的站起來，藉著聖靈指明普天下將有大饑荒。這事在凱撒克勞迪時期果然發生了。

他正說這些話，有一朵雲彩出現，籠罩著他們。他們一沒入雲彩中，門徒們就懼怕起來。有聲音從雲中傳來，說：「這是我的兒子，我所揀選的。你們當聽從他！」
