“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

“ You give them something to eat,” he responded. They said to him,“ Should we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

His disciples answered him,“ Where can anyone get enough bread here in this desolate place to feed these people?”

Then the captain, the king’s right-hand man, responded to the man of God,“ Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” Elisha announced,“ You will in fact see it with your own eyes, but you won’t eat any of it.”

Mary asked the angel,“ How can this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?”

“ There’s a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish— but what are they for so many?”

He asked this to test him, for he himself knew what he was going to do.Philip answered him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread wouldn’t be enough for each of them to have a little.”
